High Five for Friday

Photobucket
These are a few of my favorite things this week :)

1. Landyn is my sweet sweet nephew who means so much to me. I'm loving (& hating) how he is growing everyday. His Vocabulary expands over night and it's such a joy and honor watching him become a little man right in front of me.
2. Sheer blouses are a closet must have. They are the perfect thing to throw on with jeans, shorts, AND skirts - they go with EVERYTHING. With a colar or without, they really can dress up any outfit.
3. Stephanie is not only my name twin, but someone that quickly become one of my best friends. Well not quickly in the since of after we met, but in the last year has become so special to me. As I mentioned yesterday, she is leaving me for law school in less than a week.  People, that's 3-years of being separated. Boo :( I know we'll survive with Skype dates, random visits and LOTS of phone time. We got this.
4. As scared as I am about taking out all these extra loans, I am really happy that I got into graduate school and that I will be attending starting August 20th. I finally took the leap this morning and clicked 'accept' to the loans! It's official. UCF Grad school, here I come :)
5. Oh, Chick-fil-A, I feel so terrible for all of the backlash you are currently getting. I do understand where everyone is coming from because they're beliefs are much different, but you've always been a christian store, and it's been no secret. You're closed on Sundays because of your beliefs so it's clearly not all about the money (I've calculated a rough estimate before and they are losing MILLIONS every month for not being open). So why now is everyone so shocked about your beliefs? I'll tell you one thing, if it doesn't change the taste of your food, I will still be visiting you 3-5 times a week. Yes I know, embarrassing.
Oh &, of course, my favorite thing today is that it's FRIDAY!

What are some of your favorite things this week?

TEMPTU - again!

For those of you who follow my blog you're probably just as annoyed with me as I am with myself. Here we are 6 months later and I'm STILL trying to make the decision on whether or not I should make the leap and get the Temptu airbrush system.

I've been having so much trouble trying to find a good foundation lately and I just can't stand it anymore. I'm dying for a change and this little beauty is exactly what I think I need.

Right now, they are running a TV special on their website. It's $29.95 to try it out. If you decide to keep it, you will have 4 payments of $49.95. If you decide to pay for it up front, you can save $25 so the total comes to $205. I've been researching this for awhile and this is the cheapest I've found so far.

It comes with the airbrush system, foundation, blush, highlighter, and an application CD.

Based on my skin tone, I would get warm beige as the foundation
Washed Rose to make my cheeks the perfect color pink!
& for my highlighter, I would choose Pink Pearl. Reminds me of Softlights in Shimmer by Smashbox :)
I told you I have been researching for quite some time ;)

The only thing I need to do now is just hit the order button.

My birthday has passed and Christmas isn't for a few months. Maybe I can justify it by saying it's a present to myself before starting grad school in 3 weeks?

I don't think I'll ever stop obsessing over this until I just take the leap and order it.

Why can't money grow on trees? Life would be so much easier for me if it did.

It's OK Thursday

I'm still alive. This week, I don't know that I've been busier than I have in the past, but for some reason it's been harder for me to blog. The weekend was filled with drinks, Call Me Maybe Karaoke, slip n slides and LOTS of alcohol - more on this later!
It's OK..

.. that one of my best friends is moving to South Florida for law school in exactly one week. It's only OK because we've figured out she is only re-locating 180 minutes away. It sounds much better that way :)
... that I have 3 birthday celebrations to attend this weekend and I don't think I'll even be able to get through one of them. Hopefully, they are all downtown in the same location on the same night. I already know that isn't the case, but I'm hoping at least two of them are :) I just get so tired going out every weekend!

... that I didn't do anything to get ready this morning and I look like crap.

... that I have a dentist appointment today for my 6-month cleaning. This is OK because the dentist has never really bothered me and I get to leave the office a little early. YAY!

... that I lost my infinity bracelet that Katie gave me as a bridesmaid present on the slip n slide on Sunday. I really loved that bracelet and I'm obsessed with infinity symbols now. I currently have my eye on this gorgeous ring. I'll take it in gold & silver, please :)
.. that I'm DYING to decorate a  home. It's no secret that I'm obsessed with white right now when it comes to home decor. It's simplistic elegance at it's finest.
& these dark walls with the beautiful white trim is just too gorgeous for words. Don't be surprised if you see this exact thing in a future post when I get into a permanent home.
Please let that be soon. Please, oh please.

All over the place.

That's where my thoughts are so that's where how my post will seem too! Sorry for the insanely random post.

I want to be laying right here with a good book for a week straight without being bothered. Too much to ask?
This is just the cutest little summer outfit. Fashionable yet fun!
This quote was probably made for me - at least it should have been!

I have a meeting with my Graduate Advisor immediately following work and I'm nervous. I'm still going back and forth about whether or not Grad school is a good idea for me. The Mass Communication track is great to have, but I don't know how necessary it is in the industry that I'm currently in or would like to go in the future. So many thoughts, so little time.

Hopefully I'll be in a better blogging mood tomorrow!

Me, Myself & I

1. What's your biggest phobia?
I probably have more phobia's than most people. I can't help it, I'm a paranoid person who thinks of everything that can go wrong in any situation. My biggest fears are heights, driving in the rain, flying, everything in lakes or the ocean, driving next to a semi and driving on bridges over water. I always say I'm going to die while driving on a bridge, in the rain, next to a semi and a plane is going to crash into me and we'll fall in the water where a shark or alligator will eat me. I know, I'm weird.

2. If you could relieve any day of your life, what would it be and why?
If you are a follower of my blog this should come as no surprise to you, but without a doubt, 1,000 times over, I would chose the day my Nephew came into the world . It was a perfect day for many reasons and I will cherish this day for the rest of my life. It's not just because I know what a gift he was in my life, it's also because of the peaceful feeling it brought to me. It was as if my world was complete in that moment. I stayed in the hospital with my sister while friends and family came through and it was just perfect.

3. If you could choose to be a certain age forever, what would it be?
Probably 10. You know what they say, skinned knees are easier to fix than broken hearts. I would have still have still had that naive outlook on life. I never would have gone through my first heartbreak, pressures of college or jobs. My understanding would have been enough to take care of myself, but not know too much of the evil.

4. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
I've never understood why people think I look like Kendra Wilkinson. Even as I look for a picture of her, I still don't see the resemblance, but it's who I get all the time. Whether I have bleach blonde hair or low lights they still come up with the same person.

5. What songs are included on the soundtrack of your life?
Hanson- MMM Bop. I was IN.LOVE. people.
Whitesnake- Here I Go Again
Bon Jovi- I'll be there for you
Taking Back Sunday- Cute without the 'E'
Dashboard Confessionals- Hands Down
Hilary Duff- Come Clean

I literally could go on forever. Music is so beautiful and can truly transport you back to a past time in an instant. I'm the girl that is still rockin' the same CD's from 2004. Yep, no shame here!

Birchbox

The July Birchbox just came in and I hate to say it but they left much to be desired. There is really nothing that I'm crazy about out of this pack.
1. Colored headphones: I suppose these are cool, but have nothing to do with me trying out make up.
2. Oscar de la Renta sample: This scent actually smells amazing, but I wish I could get more out of it than 4 sprays.
3. Jouer moisture tint: This claims to even out imperfections and cover fine lines. I'll get back to you once I try it  for myself:)
4.Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens: These little towelettes allow you to wipe away perspiration and oil without disturbing your make up placement. Sounds pretty neat.
5. Eyeko Green Eyeliner: I'm excited to try this specific brand, however, I hardly think I'll be wearing green eye liner anytime soon.

All-in-all the products seem kind of cool, I just don't think they match what kind of look I'm going for or the things I'm interested in. I guess I'm just being a little too picky. I'll be back with updates once I try these!

Fashion Friday

I found a new link up that I'm really excited about doing today. It's called Fashion Friday :)

Something about white right now is just grabbing my attention. You can dress it down for your weekend summer days or dress it up for the office or a night out. It's the perfect mix of fun, sophistication and elegance. Not to mention, if you're tan, your skin will look fabulous!

I"m also loving these two pairs of white skinny jeans with the bright tops and accessories. The second picture illustrates the perfect way to pair two separate bright colors with white.

In.Love.

What's your favorite fashion look this week?

Back to school ...?

One of the hardest decisions that I've had in the last few years is what I'm going through currently. I hate to bore everyone with the indecisiveness (again) but I feel like I just need some advice on what to do.

There are so many positive's that can come from going to grad school, but there are always going to be cons. Unfortunately, the money is the biggest con for me. To put things in perspective, I already owe 20,000 in loans from my Bachelor's degree. In order to get my Graduate degree I would need another 13,000. That's 33,000 in student loans. I just don't know if I can stomach that. I'm currently paying $300 a month for 10 years. Yes, I did say 10!! I really don't know if I can afford more than a $300 payment for loans alone. I mean, home girls got other bills too!

I'm trying not to be so negative but it really is such a tough decision to make. Anyone else had to make this decision? What did you choose?

I'm just at a loss.

It's OK Thursday

I'm linking up for It's OK Thursday with Neely & Amber!

It's OK...

... that I'm really looking forward to this weekend. We have our quarterly LOCO tomorrow at work. Basically we get a half day at work and spend the other half doing something fun as a group. For this Loco, we're going bowling and we've separated into teams. Each team has to come up with a cool damn and dress in costumes. My team is going as the characters of Mad Men and we're calling ourselves Bowl'd Fashioneds (because of  his drink?) I've never seen the show so I don't know much about it but everyone else on my team is super excited about it. Since I love costumes, I'm just as excited :) Pictures to follow!

... that one of my close friends is moving to South Florida for law school in 3 weeks and it's just now setting it that we probably won't have our bi-weekly (if not more) wine nights and our lives are going to be completely different. I know we won't have problems finding things to talk about but it's still going to suck, BIG TIME!
... that it just premiered last night but I'm seriously loving Beverly Hills Nannies. I'm honestly shocked at how classless, pretentious and self-centered some of these "celebrities" are. I'm excited to watch and see how the rest of the season unfolds. Unfortunately, realistically, I doubt that any of these girls will get nanny jobs now that they are featured on a show.

... that in half of my post yesterday I thought yesterday was Thursday and was excited about Big Brother. Oh well today is the day!! Oh and I loved Real World last night. Really not diggin' the whole Trey and Laura thing though. She is way too obsessed with him already.

... that my boyfriend wants to go to law school simply because of this guy! We both are really into Suits (on USA) and Justin wants to be just like him!
... that I washed two loads of laundry on Sunday and they are still sitting on top of the dryer. Why is that my least favorite thing to do in this world? I need someone who will hang up my clothes exactly how I like them, but for free. Possible? I think not. So for now my dryer will have to deal with being suffocated and I'll get to them tonight.

... that I have still NOT seen Magic Mike. I can't believe it. I thought I was going to be there waiting opening tonight and I still haven't seen it two weeks later? Disgrace I tell ya. Some people  have told me that it wasn't that good because there was no real plot. Seriously girls? I'm not going for the plot! ;)

... that I got two free Slurpees yesterday. Oops! Now I'm craving another one, badly.

... that it's Thursday. One more day closer to Friday :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm in such a good mood this morning, I figured I'd do one of my favorite linkups - What I'm Loving Wednesday with Jamie!

I'm loving that today is Wednesday and not Monday or Tuesday.

I'm loving that I get to pick up my nephew from daycare today. Nothing is better than seeing that cute face light up when he sees you!

I'm loving my new nail polish, Essie Ballet Slippers. I'm channelin' my inner Emily, know what I'm sayin'? ;)
I'm loving that I've been corresponding with the head of the Graduate department since last week and I'm so close to being all signed up for classes. It's been rather hectic and misleading but I'm hoping to have it all set within the next few days :)

I'm loving the new makeup I ordered last night from E.L.F. It's my old found obsession. I used to buy it periodically but after paying the high prices for M.A.C, Bare Minerals and even Neutrogena, I've found that E.L.F has almost identical products for literally a fraction of the cost. Check it out - you will not be disappointed.
I'm loving that I brought a hot pocket and a peach for lunch today, don't judge.

I'm loving that Real World is on tonight. Again, don't judge. I can't help that I'm mildly stuck in 2002. What's next listening to BSB and N'SYNC while working? DONE! ;)

I'm loving that the The Bachelorette is coming to an end and Emily is that much closer to finding the man of her dreams. I've heard speculation and I hope I'm not being misinformed.

I'm loving that Big Brother starts in 12-hours. I've seriously been looking forward to this since last year. This will only be my 3rd season of watching but I'm hooked! My only hope is that Brenchel doesn't make an appearance on this season. Not my favorite people in the world to watch.

I'm loving that today is 7/11's birthday. You know what that means, Free Slurpees! I may be a little too excited about this because they are only $1 but I haven't had one in probably almost a year so it's almost just an excuse to go :)
What are YOU loving today?

Birthday Weekend Update

I totally had the absolute best birthday weekend - complete with family, friends and more alcohol than my body knows how to handle.
Since the 4th of July was mid-week, I decided to include what I did that day in this post. We started off the day at a pool party where the guys engaged in a slip n slide obstacle course. We had to leave early to make it to a celebration where they were going to create a human flag. If you look closely you can see my sister and I behind the "O" in "CBS RADIO". I'm such a sucker for anything patriotic.  After the human flag we stuck around to watch the fireworks!
On Thursday, Justin and I decided to go to a just us birthday dinner at Brio. I indulged in chicken, steak and shrimp skewers that were incredible! Friday was my actual birthday so Justin came downtown to have lunch with me on my break and then we hit up Kobe for dinner with my family. If you don't know what Kobe is, I feel very sorry for you. It's only the greatest food in the world!
Unfortunately, Justin had to work Friday night so it ended up being just a friends night out - which was INCREDIBLE. We partied like it was my last night on the face of the Earth and not just my last night of being 25. EEK!
Totally was feeling it the next day, but we still made it to St. Augustine for the Annual Flip Flip 'Til You Drop pub crawl. It took me many medicines and hair of the dog to finally feel 80% normal again. I will say that Friday night was worth every ounce that the hangover took out of me.

Below is some of the fabulous gifts I received from my family and friends. Justin got me my love bracelet, the curling iron, fabulous Turquoise shoes and a HUGE bottle of Moroccan Oil and a gift card to the mall so I can shop til I drop! Landyn, my Sister and Mom got me nail polish and gift cards to a whole bunch of places.
Last night was my final birthday celebration. We went to my favorite restaurant, Bonefish!  My friends literally outdid themselves this year. They picked my presents better than I ever could have.

The new Mrs. Milton got me a reading bag for my iPad or regular book to carry on the beach, Kindle giftcard, OPI fast drying top coat and spray (I already used it last night. LOVE IT!), cutest coral earrings that I'm sportin' today, rose gold bangles, napkins with a woman empowerment message, wine bottle cork and Pier 1 crackle stemless wine glasses. I used to have the crackle ones awhile back and they broke and I've wanted them back ever since. I'm tellin' ya there was thought and skill that went into her present!

My name twin got me the most creative little Pinterest inspired basket ever! She got me my new travel bottle of Moroccan Oil, a gorgeous maxi dress, 2 packs of false eyelashes, Sand Tropez Essie Nail Polish, bottle of Absolut and limes (my drink of choice), a picture frame of us with a song that we used to  sing all the time and a hand painted rose gold wine glass that she carefully bedazzled with the letter "S" and "MK" to match my watch! They seriously are insane and no me better than I know myself. I mean could I ask for better friends? I think not.
Well there you have it, my crazy insane 5 day birthday week. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend and I'm so glad my friends were able to celebrate with me! I truly feel so very blessed!
