It's OK Thursday

I'm linking up for It's OK Thursday with Neely & Amber!

It's OK...

... that I'm really looking forward to this weekend. We have our quarterly LOCO tomorrow at work. Basically we get a half day at work and spend the other half doing something fun as a group. For this Loco, we're going bowling and we've separated into teams. Each team has to come up with a cool damn and dress in costumes. My team is going as the characters of Mad Men and we're calling ourselves Bowl'd Fashioneds (because of  his drink?) I've never seen the show so I don't know much about it but everyone else on my team is super excited about it. Since I love costumes, I'm just as excited :) Pictures to follow!

... that one of my close friends is moving to South Florida for law school in 3 weeks and it's just now setting it that we probably won't have our bi-weekly (if not more) wine nights and our lives are going to be completely different. I know we won't have problems finding things to talk about but it's still going to suck, BIG TIME!
... that it just premiered last night but I'm seriously loving Beverly Hills Nannies. I'm honestly shocked at how classless, pretentious and self-centered some of these "celebrities" are. I'm excited to watch and see how the rest of the season unfolds. Unfortunately, realistically, I doubt that any of these girls will get nanny jobs now that they are featured on a show.

... that in half of my post yesterday I thought yesterday was Thursday and was excited about Big Brother. Oh well today is the day!! Oh and I loved Real World last night. Really not diggin' the whole Trey and Laura thing though. She is way too obsessed with him already.

... that my boyfriend wants to go to law school simply because of this guy! We both are really into Suits (on USA) and Justin wants to be just like him!
... that I washed two loads of laundry on Sunday and they are still sitting on top of the dryer. Why is that my least favorite thing to do in this world? I need someone who will hang up my clothes exactly how I like them, but for free. Possible? I think not. So for now my dryer will have to deal with being suffocated and I'll get to them tonight.

... that I have still NOT seen Magic Mike. I can't believe it. I thought I was going to be there waiting opening tonight and I still haven't seen it two weeks later? Disgrace I tell ya. Some people  have told me that it wasn't that good because there was no real plot. Seriously girls? I'm not going for the plot! ;)

... that I got two free Slurpees yesterday. Oops! Now I'm craving another one, badly.

... that it's Thursday. One more day closer to Friday :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm in such a good mood this morning, I figured I'd do one of my favorite linkups - What I'm Loving Wednesday with Jamie!

I'm loving that today is Wednesday and not Monday or Tuesday.

I'm loving that I get to pick up my nephew from daycare today. Nothing is better than seeing that cute face light up when he sees you!

I'm loving my new nail polish, Essie Ballet Slippers. I'm channelin' my inner Emily, know what I'm sayin'? ;)
I'm loving that I've been corresponding with the head of the Graduate department since last week and I'm so close to being all signed up for classes. It's been rather hectic and misleading but I'm hoping to have it all set within the next few days :)

I'm loving the new makeup I ordered last night from E.L.F. It's my old found obsession. I used to buy it periodically but after paying the high prices for M.A.C, Bare Minerals and even Neutrogena, I've found that E.L.F has almost identical products for literally a fraction of the cost. Check it out - you will not be disappointed.
I'm loving that I brought a hot pocket and a peach for lunch today, don't judge.

I'm loving that Real World is on tonight. Again, don't judge. I can't help that I'm mildly stuck in 2002. What's next listening to BSB and N'SYNC while working? DONE! ;)

I'm loving that the The Bachelorette is coming to an end and Emily is that much closer to finding the man of her dreams. I've heard speculation and I hope I'm not being misinformed.

I'm loving that Big Brother starts in 12-hours. I've seriously been looking forward to this since last year. This will only be my 3rd season of watching but I'm hooked! My only hope is that Brenchel doesn't make an appearance on this season. Not my favorite people in the world to watch.

I'm loving that today is 7/11's birthday. You know what that means, Free Slurpees! I may be a little too excited about this because they are only $1 but I haven't had one in probably almost a year so it's almost just an excuse to go :)
What are YOU loving today?

Birthday Weekend Update

I totally had the absolute best birthday weekend - complete with family, friends and more alcohol than my body knows how to handle.
Since the 4th of July was mid-week, I decided to include what I did that day in this post. We started off the day at a pool party where the guys engaged in a slip n slide obstacle course. We had to leave early to make it to a celebration where they were going to create a human flag. If you look closely you can see my sister and I behind the "O" in "CBS RADIO". I'm such a sucker for anything patriotic.  After the human flag we stuck around to watch the fireworks!
On Thursday, Justin and I decided to go to a just us birthday dinner at Brio. I indulged in chicken, steak and shrimp skewers that were incredible! Friday was my actual birthday so Justin came downtown to have lunch with me on my break and then we hit up Kobe for dinner with my family. If you don't know what Kobe is, I feel very sorry for you. It's only the greatest food in the world!
Unfortunately, Justin had to work Friday night so it ended up being just a friends night out - which was INCREDIBLE. We partied like it was my last night on the face of the Earth and not just my last night of being 25. EEK!
Totally was feeling it the next day, but we still made it to St. Augustine for the Annual Flip Flip 'Til You Drop pub crawl. It took me many medicines and hair of the dog to finally feel 80% normal again. I will say that Friday night was worth every ounce that the hangover took out of me.

Below is some of the fabulous gifts I received from my family and friends. Justin got me my love bracelet, the curling iron, fabulous Turquoise shoes and a HUGE bottle of Moroccan Oil and a gift card to the mall so I can shop til I drop! Landyn, my Sister and Mom got me nail polish and gift cards to a whole bunch of places.
Last night was my final birthday celebration. We went to my favorite restaurant, Bonefish!  My friends literally outdid themselves this year. They picked my presents better than I ever could have.

The new Mrs. Milton got me a reading bag for my iPad or regular book to carry on the beach, Kindle giftcard, OPI fast drying top coat and spray (I already used it last night. LOVE IT!), cutest coral earrings that I'm sportin' today, rose gold bangles, napkins with a woman empowerment message, wine bottle cork and Pier 1 crackle stemless wine glasses. I used to have the crackle ones awhile back and they broke and I've wanted them back ever since. I'm tellin' ya there was thought and skill that went into her present!

My name twin got me the most creative little Pinterest inspired basket ever! She got me my new travel bottle of Moroccan Oil, a gorgeous maxi dress, 2 packs of false eyelashes, Sand Tropez Essie Nail Polish, bottle of Absolut and limes (my drink of choice), a picture frame of us with a song that we used to  sing all the time and a hand painted rose gold wine glass that she carefully bedazzled with the letter "S" and "MK" to match my watch! They seriously are insane and no me better than I know myself. I mean could I ask for better friends? I think not.
Well there you have it, my crazy insane 5 day birthday week. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend and I'm so glad my friends were able to celebrate with me! I truly feel so very blessed!

Acceptance..

With the wedding, birthdays and everything else going on, I almost forgot to mention that I got incredible news last Friday. Something that I'm sincerely very proud of.. I was accepted into the grad program at the only school I applied to, UCF - my Alma Mater!

Check out this baby!
Truth be told, I kind of distanced myself from the whole idea of going back to school because in my heart of hearts I was certain that I wasn't going to get in. I couldn't stomach the rejection so I decided to just pretend that it was no longer one of my goals.

I'm so happy that I even took the chance by taking the GRE and applying. It's something I typically don't do because I have an unwavering fear of rejection. It's definitely something that I'm working on, but it doesn't go away overnight.

Now it's time to start planning how to pay for it. Boy do I wish I could get a scholarship or  some kind of assistance that doesn't require me to take out more loans since I'll be paying off the ones I already have until 2021.. not exaggerating.

Oh well, for now I'm just going to be proud. Proud that I tried, proud that I got in and proud that I'm accomplishing things that I always wanted to, yet never believed I could actually do.

The road to the altar..

This past weekend we celebrated one of my best friends weddings. It was truly an amazing weekend and one that I'll never forget. We kicked off the festivities Friday with the "I Do BBQ" which consisted of cowboy boots, bbq, bandanas, WINE and lots of fun. The room was beautifully decorated and even more importantly filled with love. I can't lie, we did get super classy and play flip cup once a lot of the older people left. Then we all headed to a local country bar for their opening night. We sure stuck to the theme! We had a blast and may or may not have ended the night with a trip to Mc. Donalds. What the bride wants, the bride gets! :)
When we woke up bright and early, and hungover, it was time to start primping for the big day. Katie had breakfast delivered for us, as well as Publix Subs and a gorgeous fruit tray that we had to fill our stomachs. She prepared us well for a day filled with drinking. A lady came who did all of our hair and makeup. Katie was perfectly calm and relaxed, almost too calm. I kept trying to ask if if it hadn't set in yet because she was just hanging out like any other day. I guess that's a good thing :)
A trolley (um how cute?) picked us girls up and took us to the church. On the way she gifted us with monogrammed totes, monogrammed clutch size bags, infinity gold bracelets that we're seriously TO DIE FOR (can you tell that I'm obsessed?), mini shot bottle and cool stunner shades for our grand entrance into the reception. Everything in the bag was amazing, but I have to say the card was most touching of all. The whole getting ready and champagne induced ride to the church was surreal and incredible. Definitely perfect moments that will last a lifetime!
After the I DO's, the whole bridal party was back on the Trolley headed to the reception where we made patterned up with the guys and each did a fun dance when we entered. Thank God for the shades. Once they were on, I didn't have any fear. OK, it was also the alcohol. Some of us took a shot of Gentlemen Jack on the way to the reception. I had never tried it and it wasn't half bad!
Jason's best man seriously delivered the best speech I've ever heard. If I had a copy, I'd love to share it with you. The night consisted of a TON of drinks, dancing and FUN! Surprisingly, there were no "Oh My, that just happened" moments. Everything went according to plan, which I know Katie was thrilled about.
We brought the celebration downtown after the reception because we just didn't want the day to end. I can't describe in words how amazing the day truly was but I'm so happy I got to be a part of such a special day in their lives.
So cheers to you guys. I hope you have a marriage more beautiful than your wedding. I know that's setting the bar high but if you can do that, you'll have nothing to worry about ;)

The Big 26!

Seriously, I couldn't have better co-workers. Upon walking into the office this morning, I was greeted with a gorgeously decorated desk filled with photos of Channing Tatum. Literally, filled. They were under my mouse, on my chair (front and back), scattered around my desk, on my stapler, on my monitor, EVERYWHERE. They know me all to well :)
Are they not just the best?

My boss even showed up with Chick Fila Tea & chicken mini's, which are both my absolute favorites. She is so thoughtful and got me both sweetened and unsweetened because I mix them to make the perfect concoction.
Last night the boyfriend and I hit up Brio for an early birthday dinner since we're going to be going to dinner with my parents tonight at KOBE. He has to work after dinner for the rest of the weekend so I'm going out with friends tonight then St. Augustine for the weekend so we thought we'd get a little bit of us time.

This weekend we're going to the Annual Flip Flop Til You DROP pub crawl on St. Augustine beach. I'm really excited for all the festivities. I may be 26, but I still know how to have fun. Well I may end my night 5 hours before I used to, but I'd like to think I still got it.. whatever "IT" is ; )

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Oh and I promise that the wedding weekend pictures will be up shortly.

Birthday Wish List

So my birthday is this Friday. I figured I'd dedicate an entire post to the goodies that have been on my radar. Enjoy!

This year I feel like there are so many things I want that I can't even figure them all out at this point. So here are just a few of the many things I've had my eye on for awhile.

Still unsure about the Temptu system but I'd love to try it out (again) to see if it's worth the hype. That, or I need to get to MAC for some good foundation. I've been slackin' in that department.

I'm loving Moroccan Oil Light. It's relatively new and is specifically made for blondie's. They also just came out with "It's a 10 light" for Blonde's but I haven't tried it yet. I hear it's amazing!

The most important part to me is the celebration though. As long as I have good friends, food and drinks, I'll be one happy birthday girl :)
