The video below has been making its way across the interwebs today and it's too incredible not share with you guys. This courageous teen is featured in a documentary about his final days. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend taking the 22 minutes out of your day to watch it. You'll be inspired and look at life in an entirely different way. I know I will.
Zach lost his battle with cancer yesterday, just 3 weeks after his 18th birthday. He will clearly be deeply missed. It's heartbreaking that we lost such a wonderful person in the world, but his beautiful legacy will continue to live on.
Remember that wedding I was in back at the end of June?
You know the one where we sang Call Me Maybe at every different location that we visited that day? This would be the one I'm referring to.
Well the video came back yesterday. The Bride and I, along with everyone else that has viewed it are just OBSESSED.
They did such an amazing job putting it together.
If you didn't plan on having a videographer at your wedding, I bet this will change your mind. Sure pictures capture individual moments, but from what I know now, you can't truly get the feel of the whole experience unless you have a video.
If you haven't already watched this video, I suggest that you do so. It's motivating and heartbreaking all in one.
The video was made by an organization called Invisible Children. After it was released, some people have spoken out against them, claiming that only 31% of the funds that the organization receives goes to helping people. You can read more about their allegations here. Invisible Children updated their blog in response by including a pie graph of where each dollar goes. Their goal is to raise awareness of this issue, so I realize that are going to be a lot of traveling, film production, and marketing expenses.
The organization gives you the option of buying a KONY2012 bracelet, shirt or action kit, as well as the opportunity to give a few dollars a month to support those in need. However, their primary goal is to bring down the LRA and stop Kony - so your money is NOT what they are after.
Although there are always going to be those people that try to imply that someone's positive efforts are in fact negative, the point is that everyone agrees on the main thing, Kony must be stopped!
If you haven't yet, please take the time to watch this video and sign the petition. I'm not asking anyone to purchase a thing, just to educate yourself on the subject. The United States will only use our resources to stop him until the end of 2012 so that's the deadline. The deadline to create awareness through every channel possible and the deadline to help those that can't help themselves.
Please note, I have an extremely sarcastic sense of humor. If you are not that type of person, this may not be the post for you. I assure you, I mean no harm by posting these videos.
If you haven't been introduced to these hilarious videos that are sweeping the web over the past few weeks, allow me..
It started off with Sh*t Girls Say- Episodes 1 & 2
Then it spanned to Sh*t every type of person can say to any other type of person.
Linking up with the beautiful Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday
I'm loving that it's Wednesday already :)
I'm loving this video. A groom surprises his bride with a Justin Bieber inspired dance at their wedding.
He knows what women want ;)
I'm loving that my boyfriend is working midnight's now. It sounded horrible at first, but I didn't realize the benefits that it would bring. We finally get to have dinner together again and he is coming up when I'm leaving for work. So he sleeps while I'm at work and I sleep while he is at work. Besides his horrible sleep schedule and being home alone all night, it's a win-win :)
I'm loving this tiny little black dress. Like I always say, you can never have enough little black dresses.
I'm loving that we are going to the Magic game tonight. Beat the Spurs :)
I'm loving that I'm going to Happy Hour with my co-workers for our quarterly loco. Unfortunately, I don't get to stay for dinner & drinks since I got tickets to the game.
I'm loving this adorable bedroom for my, very far in the, future baby girl.
This might not be funny to anyone else, but I die laughing at the littlest things. To me, this merits a good 10-15 minute straight laugh.
I’m loving that i'm doing my first link up with Jamie
I’m loving that I got my shift picked up at the restaurant today and I get to go home and get some rest since I’m not feeling so hot today… yet again! I can’t think of anything I would rather do then get in bed and watch snapped marathons until I pass out at around, hmmm, 8.
I’m loving looking at these adorable dresses that I found today on forever21.com.
I’m absolutely loving this proposal. Who doesn’t love flashmobs and dream of one day being a part of one? Hmm, I guess that’s just me! But, this is the sweetest most thoughtful and well-planned proposal that I have personally ever seen.
This gorgeous weather that we are having in Orlando is making my days more enjoyable . It’s a cool 75 degrees and I’m loving every second of it.
Most of all, I’m loving that I get to see my nephew immediately after leaving work today. So, today is an extra special Wednesday :)
