Temptu

Say hello to my newest obsession

If you are as late to the party as I am, Temptu is a revolutionary airbrush makeup system that is designed for us regular individuals to use at home on a daily basis. You mostly see airbrush makeup only on movie stars but this beauty can be yours for only $225. Plus the pods of makeup that run about 2 for $55. That is said to last about 4-5 months.

I know, it seems a little steep, but here me out. The initial purchase of the machine itself is a bit on the pricey side but after trying it out yesterday, I'm sold.

Well, that is, once I muster up the strength to spend that kind of money on something that that my life doesn't depend on, or does it? :)

They are sold at Sephora, which is where I went to check it out yesterday. I just heard of Temptu this week so I was eager to try it out and see what all the hype was about. I hooked up with a sales rep and she matched my colors and gave me a fresh new face in minutes.

My skin looked flawless. Not to mention, it stayed on throughout the rest of the day. Even after a bike ride around the neighborhood, I was shocked to find that it was still beautifully in tact.

She even gave me the list of which colors she used for my skin:
Beige foundation, Warm Glow bronzer, Champagne highlighter, and Sheerberry blush.

Has anyone else heard of this machine? I've read the reviews, most are positive. However, there are some negative, which is why I tried it out for myself. Anyone heard any bad stories about this machine? I would hate to spend that type of money on it and then something break or not go as planned.

Until I hear any reason not to be daydreaming about this machine, I'll be doing just that.

Too bad I can't use it to get all dolled up for New Years tonight.

Have fun and be safe :)

Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had a great holiday.

I've been a busy girl spending my vacation time with family, friends, and the boyfriend.

I'll give you a quick update on my activities, as well as all the goodies I received for Christmas. I'd like to apologize in advance for the length of this post. There is a lot of information to cover!

Last weekend we went to St. Augustine and did a drink and food crawl with my aunt and their neighbors. We went to downtown St. Augustine to walk around before everything got started. It was beautiful out.

The next day we were back in Orlando and hit up Dave and Buster's with a few of our friends that were in town for the holidays. They won 1,200 tickets at Wheel of Fortune. Sweet!
Remember this couple for later on in my post :)

Fast forward to this past weekend and it was finally Christmas!

Every year since I was born, we do the same thing for Christmas. We spend Christmas Eve with my Dad's side of the family and Christmas Day with my Mom's side, this year was no exception.

Before we went to my Grandparents, Justin and I exchanged gifts because he had to work all weekend.

Let's just say, he spoiled me :)
Michael Kors black bag, Michael Kors watch (the one I wanted,) Lilly Pulitzer Planner, Brazilian Blowout Deep Conditioning Masque, and Camel boots.

Apparently, he had already got the larger MK watch but had to exchange it once my sister let him know that I have changed my mind. He did awesome :)

My Grandpa planned our Christmas plans this year and kept us on a tight itinerary.
1PM we ate Ham, Turkey, Twice Baked Potatoes & Veggies
2PM We went to the clubhouse and played a family game of basketball (my team lost, boo) and hit some golf balls.
4PM We had Meatball subs and Sausage & Peppers
5PM Present time
I have a HUGE family. Each of my grandparents had 6 kids, those 6 kids each had kids. Let's just say, there is a bunch of us, and we're Italian/Irish. It's a LOUD bunch to say the least.

For the past 5 or 6 years, we have been doing Chinese Christmas, more commonly known as White Elephant. This eliminates everyone going into debt by trying to buy everyone presents. Plus, it's a lot of fun getting gag gifts and seeing how the game plays out.

Christmas Morning, Landyn opened up his gifts. This was his second Christmas, but the first one that he actually understood opening presents.

Here are some pictures of my little man on Christmas morning

My sister got me the Urban Decay Naked Palette :)

Then it was off to my Mema's house for more family time.

I <3 my Mema :)

We went to Sea World on Monday with Kevin and Jenna. I don't do roller coasters so I'm glad Justin had some people that would go with him.

Moving onto Tuesday.

I went to dinner for my Aunt's birthday. Who doesn't love birthdays, perfect reason to go to hibachi :)

My adorable cousin, Bryanna.

THEN-- Drum Roll please...

Our friends, Kevin and Jenna, got engaged!

He proposed to her on Park Ave, right by a little courtyard. We went and set everything up while they were at dinner. They were planning on going to Wine Room after dinner and then when they turned into the courtyard, we had 'Marry Me' by train playing and 'Marry Me?' spelled out in candles, with rose petals surrounding. This Christmas lights were an added plus!

It was BEAUTIFUL-- see for yourself

After she said YES, we all went out to celebrate. Kevin had arranged for a group of her friends to meet us at Wine Room afterward. The whole night was magical for her, to say the least.

It was a perfect week.

Unfortunately, last night Justin got into a car accident while on duty. A younger girl pulled out in front of him, and there was nothing he could do to avoid impact. Luckily, he just has a few bruises. They took him to the hospital to have Xrays and a  Cat Scan just to be sure. His trainer had to get 5 staples in his head and banged up his knee. The girl that hit them was unresponsive at first, but Justin thinks she might have woken up when they were loading her into the ambulance.

Both cars are totaled, but that was the least of our worries. The accident could have been a lot worse. I'm extremely thankful that Justin is OK. His ego seems to be more damaged than anything else, but it wasn't his fault so he has no reason to beat himself up over it. Once I hear an update on the girl, I will feel much better.

Tonight, I'm going to dinner for my friend Steph's birthday. We are going to Colorado Fondue, which is a delicious local fondue place that I just adore.

That is my looooong update. Back to regular posting soon, I hope :)

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday. If you are feeling nostalgic because Christmas has passed, don't forget New Years is just around the corner :)

Cherish what you have

Makes you realize your problems aren't really that big after all.

I don't want to cause tears, but this was an awesome message all in one simple picture.

Melting Pot

Hmm, so what have I been up to?

I perfected my Coaster manufacturing. I can now pop these babies out in minutes (minus the drying time).

I would highly suggest getting the Sealant for them. In my previous post, I was unsure, but now I'm an advocate. It adds a shine and prevents them from sticking together. Kudos to Kate for making me try it.

Last night we went to the Improv at Pointe Orlando. All proceeds went to the research for Autism, which was a plus. It started off rough but the last few guys were pretty funny.

Christmas is right around the corner & these pins have me wishing I had a snazzy outfit to show off while celebrating with family.

This one would be perfect for the office Christmas party.

Yes, I realize this outfit is largely dark and ominous. However, the pop of green and accessories are perfect for Christmas attire.

I found this and I thought it would be a good idea to do.

I made one in high school and our teacher said she would bring them to our 10 year reunion. Well imagine how serious I was when doing this busy work assignment.

I'm pretty sure I left my parking spot to my little sister, my heart to my boyfriend at the time, etc..

BTW- we didn't even have assigned parking spots.

So when I do write a letter to myself, I'm going to take it seriously so I can see how much I've grown in that period of time.

I know this post is super random

Things just keep flowing off the top of my head.

Bare with me.

I'm loving all the sweet Christmas cards I received this year. Our friends have some cute kids, that's for sure!

Next topic.

We did Secret Santa at the office this week.

Check out my sweet gifts:

Discoball Keychain with lip gloss inside.
Glitter Nail filer
Dark Purple Nail Polish
Purse Hook (I don't go ANYWHERE without my purse hook so having extras for other purses is a huge plus)
Christmas Decorated Wine Glass

The kicker is that I barely know this girl, but she pinned me perfectly :)

Our offices are closed the week after Christmas so I only have one more day of work until the New Year & I'm thrilled about it!

I'm sure I will find plenty of time to update you about my adventures.

Happy Holidays everyone!

MK all day

After finally going to try on different styles, I found the watch that best suits me.

The Michael Kors 'Madison' Stone-Topring Watch

Here she is:

Now I understand that it's way too late to add this to my Christmas list, but there is always my birthday.

In 7 months :/

Before I fall asleep on my computer, I'm going to head off to bed. I'm just so tired for some reason.

I leave you with a quote that I'm guilty of in every way :)

Coaster Tutorial

I decided to make you guys a little 'How To' guide on how I made the coasters that I'll be handing out to family for Christmas.

Thank you, Pinterest!

To begin, you'll need to get the supplies.

Pictures- To personalize them, duh. You can also use scrapbook paper instead of pictures if you just prefer a certain pattern. You could also use scrapbook paper and then add the picture for a double effect. That could be for experts, I'm still a beginner ;)

Tiles- I just got the plain white 4x4's from Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.. Only 10 cents each.

Mod Podge- Glossy or Matte, I chose the Glossy and a friend chose Matte, but wished she had used Glossy. Just depends on the look you are going for. Hobby Lobby has the big bottle for $6.99.

Glue Stick- This is to stick the pictures on the coaster, so any kind of glue would really work. $2.00?

Brush- You can use a paint brush or a sponge brush. I chose the sponge brush. Again, it's just a preference. A paint brush will give you a different type of stroke look. $1.33 at Hobby Lobby.

Felt- This is to apply to the back of them so they are more legit ;) I used the sticky sheet felt. A friend of mine used the role and just applied it to the four corners. Hers gave a higher lift, but they both successfully served the same purpose. $1 per sheet at Hobby Lobby. If you are doing the entire back you can get 6 coasters done per sheet. I made 30 coasters, so I got 5 sheets.

Ribbon-A cute packaging for the final product. $2.00 at Hob Lob.

The total price was around $20 & that included presents for My Mom, Grandma, Myself and My Boyfriend's Parents. Score!

The supplies. Glue stick not pictured.

Setting out the tiles. I suggest putting paper towels or something underneath.

Cut the pictures out to your liking. If you get 4x6 photos, you only have to cut off a little bit. The new true digital is really 4x5.3 so allot for some cropping.

Tip: Don't get photos that are too close up, because they won't fit once you cut them.

Glue the pictures to the tiles.

Mod Podge time! Use the brush and just lightly paint over the tiles. I did 6 coats of Mod Podge. You have to wait for them to dry between each coat. The bottle says 20 minutes, I found that it was more like 7 minutes, but you'll know because the Mod Podge goes on white and once it turns clear it's dry.

Tip: Don't fret, the white WILL turn to clear.

All done with the Mod Podge. I should have gotten a better picture once it was completely dry. They basically look just like they did before the Mod Podge went on. So adorable

Some people use a sealant spray to make them more water resistant. I did not. However, I still may go back and add that since I hear it helps.

Once they are dry, add the felt to the back. I cut them almost into 4x4's as well. I wasn't so picky on how straight they were, it is the bottom after all.

Add the ribbon and give them as a gift to a loved one. I think it's an adorable personalized present that you can give to family, friends, co-workers, in-laws, etc...

I hope you guys enjoyed this. Please send me any questions that you may have and I'd be happy to help :)
