Nola Trip

Since I haven't had time to explain my trip to New Orleans, I figured I'd just show you through pictures. We had a blast to say the least :)
Until we meet again, New Orleans :)

It's OK Thursday

It's OK Thusday with Amber and Neely

.. that I haven't posted in a week and not many times before that in the last month. Between traveling, the upcoming wedding, work and everything else, I just haven't had the time!

.. that I miss my Landyn so much. I've been so busy so I haven't been seeing him every single day like I normally do. I didn't see him yesterday so I'm going through withdrawals :(

.. that I have SOO much to do tonight, which includes washing & styling my hair and giving myself a mani/pedi. They are two things that are very time consuming when I have so much else to do.

.. that I tried on my bridesmaid dress for this weekend's wedding and it's all of a sudden HUGE on me. On my lunch break I'm going to find someone that will do a speedy alteration. Fingers crossed.

.. that I want these floats badly! I'm not a fan of the ocean or lakes, basically any body of water that I can't see what's below. Obviously I would have to make an exception for both of these.

.. that I didn't get home from work until 10 last night. This really was ok because we threw the future Mrs. Milton a surprise bridal shower at work and then we all headed out for HH, that ended up turning into a somewhat all night affair.
It was country themed because this girl loves her some country. Of course we had to have Sweet Tea Vodka & Lemonade as the signature drink!
We got her pink cowboy boots :)
I wore flannel just for her :) & trust, you don't see this all that often.
Cute cowboy boot Koozies and her personalized bridal mason jar glass :)
Just hanging out at Ember for Happy Hour with her fancy cup! ; )
.. that this post is so short. I have to get back to finding an immediate alterations lady :)

Happy Thursday!

It's OK Thursday

It's OK Thursday, as per usual :)

It's OK...

... that this weekend I hardly have any plans, except a hair appointment tomorrow and a birthday celebration for my Mema on Saturday.

.. that my roots are horrid. This is only OK because of said appointment.

.. that my nails are going commando today. And the fact that I put that a lot in my It's OK posts. What is it with my nails on Thursdays?

.. that everyday that I bring my lunch I have to try to talk myself into eating it rather than going out for lunch.

.. that I'm always fighting going on a shopping spree. I hate budgets. While I was in college, I worked (a lot) and never had to worry about money in ways that I do now. I guess because I know my paychecks are the same no matter what. I can't "pick up a shift" If I want to go shopping or on a vacation, I have to budget for it. Oh the joys of the 'real world'. I can't lie though, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

.. that I'm OBSESSED with the song Paradise by Coldplay. Listen to it, thank me later.

.. that I'm going to a wedding next week and still don't have a dress for the rehearsal dinner. Time is tickin'.

.. that mornings are the worst for me. It's just the first 15 minutes of getting up and after that I'm fine. I just wish the getting up part was a tad easier.

That's all for today. What is something that is OK for you?

Birchbox & Shave Club

This month's Birchbox totally put my reservations that I had after last month's box to rest.
Check out my goodies!
1. Mini bottle of Wonderstruck perfume by Taylor Swift
2. TheBalm cosmetics Stainiac - A tinted gel that is used for your cheeks (as blush) or your lips (as gloss).
3. Stila one step Bronzer: A full size bottle of this bronzing serum that is a trio of complimentary pigments to make the perfect glow. Really looking forward to using this.
4. Comodynes Self-Tanning Intensive & Uniform Color - Napkin sized towelettes comes with a moisturizing formula that works with the natural proteins of your skin to give you a convincing tan.
5. Luna bar - The whole nutrition bar for women in the form of a peanut butter cookie.

Now onto another gem that I found :)
So here I was two weeks ago dreading going to buy new razors in the next few days. It was finally that time again - the one of four times a year (if that) that I splurge on this overpriced purchase. While scrolling down my news feed, I came across The Dollar Shave Club that one of my distant friends had posted. I was skeptical, but most of all intrigued. After analyzing the website and looking for "the catch". You have 3 options to choose from:
$1 a month for a 2 blade handle and 5 cartridges
$6 a month for a 4 blade handle and 4 cartridges
$9 a month for a 6 blade handle and 3 cartridges

For your first month, you get the handle and the cartridges and every month after you just get the cartridges. If you want to upgrade or lower package to a lesser price, you can at anytime. PLUS you'll get another free handle if you upgrade or downgrade your package. Not to mention, you can cancel your membership at any time!

I figured I had nothing to lose, so I did it and received the package a few days later. I'm now the proud owner of the handle with 4 cartridges for just $6 a month. It works perfectly and I would definitely recommend it to others, clearly ; ) If your interested, you can get more information here.

The Nail Files

The Nail Files
The Nail Files with Vicki and Tara on this beautiful Friday :)

This weekend, I'm heading to NOLA to spend time with some pretty great friends of ours.

Since we're going to be in the city that is famous for Mardi Gras, I figured my nail color should be just as bright and fun. This weekend, I'll be flashin' Essie's Braziliant. I feel like they look much more like bright orange in the photo. Oh well, what's a girl to do?
What pretty nails are you showing off this weekend? Come show us :)

It's OK Thursday

It's finally THURSDAY. The second to last day of the week and if that doesn't make everything OK, I don't know what does. OK, maybe being Friday would, but you know get catch my drift ; )

As per usual, I'm linking up with Amber and Neely for It's OK Thursday!

It's OK...

.. that I didn't bring anything for lunch to work today. My boyfriend brought me home my absolute favorite cupcakes, red velvet! After further investigation, I found out his co-workers gave them to him for his birthday but since he knows they are mine & a co-worker's favorite, he let me take them to work :)
.. that we leave tomorrow and I haven't gone shopping, packed or done anything that I'm supposed to have ready for the trip. That's no surprise though. Anytime I'm going out of town, I typically stay up until the wee hours of the morning getting everything together. I'm a planner by nature, however, a procrastinator when packing. That in itself is OK with me :)

.. that I'm still obsessed with too many reality TV shows. Last night I was thrilled to be able to catch up on some of my favorites. And these 3 are just what I was behind on ;)
.. that I want a Turkey Tom with no mayo, add oil & vinegar for lunch. Hello, Jimmy Johns! Why am I so obsessed with this place? It's definitely not just another sub place to me.

What's OK with you today?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

This week..

I'm loving that today is Wednesday so we are over the hump and that much closer to the weekend and Nola (see previous post).

I'm loving that Magic Mike comes out in the next few weeks. I rented The Vow the other night and I cried just as much as when I saw it the first time. I miss Channing and I'm looking forward to seeing him in his element ;)

I'm loving this photo that my Aunt just posted. My children WILL play outside. It's what makes a kid a kid.

I'm loving today is my boyfriend's birthday. Since he works tonight, we celebrated last night by going to a lovely dinner at Park Plaza Gardens on Park Ave.
We sipped on Vodka & H20 - standard. For our app, we chose panko and coconut crusted shrimp, which was the app special of the day. Note: If a restaurant offers cocoanut shrimp, we usually get it. It's something we both can enjoy. For my entree, I chose the the Filet Beef Tenderloin. No surprise there, I couldn't pronounce half of the stuff on the menu, let alone know what I would be ordering, so I figured that was my 'safe' choice. Justin got the lump crap stuffed grouper and he said it was delicious. After a few cocktails, we finished with the Chocolate Truffle Cake for dessert. Justin was a full and happy birthday boy - mission complete!

I also gave him his birthday gifts last night. He is trying to start a watch collection so I decided to help add to that collection by getting him two Guess watches (the one below and the same one with a dark blue face), a watch box that I founds on Amazon (I'm super picky so it was a wonder that I found one I liked), and a gift card for these shoes. I didn't order them because I didn't know how he would feel about white. He already has the same pair in black so I figured I'd let him decide.

Before I ever got with Justin, I celebrated this date because it's the birthday of two of my favorite people: Mary Kate and Ashley! At least they used to be. I'm using this picture because it is a reminder of how normal and beautiful they used to be. My sister and I used to back them a cake every year and watch their movies while simultaneously singing and dancing along, no lie.
I'm loving that Justin and I are talking about going on a couples vacation in the next month or so. We usually go on a tropical 'just us' vacation every summer so I'm looking forward to seeing where we go this year.

What are you loving this week?

The Big Easy!

All I'm looking forward to right about now is my vacation that starts in approximately 74 hours and 43 minutes - but who is counting? ;)
Okay so maybe I won't be sinking my feet in the sand and drinking a fruity drink while the sun colors my skin. However, I will be in what I hear is one of the greatest cities in the world, even post Hurricane Katrina.
Immediately following work on Friday, the boyfriend, myself and our favorite couple will be headed on a road trip to the city of The Saints! We are going to visit our friends that live up there and I just know we are going to have an absolute blast.

By this time Saturday, I anticipate having a Hurricane in my hand and could very well already feel that New Orleans has got the best of me. I mean it is a vacation after all :)

I hope you have something fabulous planned for your weekend as well!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

As per usual, I'm linking up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

This week I'm loving...

.. that my phone has been acting up so I took it to Sprint yesterday and they are ordering me a brand new phone!

.. I'm loving that we finalized the plans on Friday so next Friday we are headed to New Orleans. You can bet your bottom dollar that I will have a hurricane in my head by noon Saturday :)

.. that we are going to Olive Garden for lunch today. Hello, Pasta Fagioli,  breadsticks and whatever else I decide to order!
.. that my boyfriend has off of work tonight. If you don't know, we have complete opposite schedules so I usually only get to see him once or twice a week - even though we live together. When I'm at work, he is at home sleeping. When I'm at home sleeping, he is at work. The quote 'two ships passing each other in the night' couldn't fit us more perfectly. The only thing I'm not excited about is that he said he might want to go see MIB3 tonight, I guess it couldn't hurt to get some sleep in the movies ;)

.. that I finally had time to paint my nails last night after peeling my polish off on Saturday. In case you're wondering, I went with Topless and Barefoot by Essie. I've been in a neutral kind of mood lately.
.. that I had a great weekend with my family at the beach. It was so nice to have an actual relaxing vacation. I'm not saying that I spent much time relaxing but my mood was relaxed and that's just how I like it.

Friday we went straight to my cousin's graduation and then went back to the house for dinner and many drinks. After  getting back to the condo, my Boyfriend, Uncle and I headed out on the golf cart to go find a bar. Who knew that nothing would be open passed midnight? We ended up finding a pizza place that served alcohol. They were closed but their open light was still on so they invited us to have drinks with them. They opened bottles of wine for us and gave us beers. It was definitely an interesting bunch.
The beach was calling our name on Saturday. My whole family headed out there for a day of fun in the sun. We played games, went on the paddle board and just hung out. After we left the beach we went to lunch at the pizza place and, surprisingly, their food was incredible.
On Saturday night, my Aunt and Uncle hosted a graduation party for family and my little cousin's friends. It was a ton of fun :) Of course when we got back to the Condo, my uncle, boyfriend and sister's boyfriend insisted on eating all the leftovers from lunch and ordering another pizza. After lunch on Sunday we drove back and I was pooped, I never take naps and I took an hour nap - crazy!
What are you loving this week?
