Friday Letters

It's time for Friday Letters with Ashley :)

Dear People Magazine, Congratulations for finally getting your act together and giving the Sexiest Man Alive title to its rightful owner. Only took you 7 years to get up to speed with me :)
Dear Twilight, When I heard about the twist at the end of the movie, I was skeptical but as sad as it was, I'm glad they switched it up. Happy that they did such an incredible job on the movie, sad that it's the end of an era. I'll miss you forever, Edward. Bella, not so much.
Dear Friday, I love you but wish you came 3 hours later today. Mama needed to get catch more zZZ's before waking up. I was still dreaming of Edward.

Dear Alcohol, I'm looking forward to going to the Margarita Ball tomorrow, however, please be easy on me. I don't want to spend my Sunday passed out all day. Actually, now that I think about it, that sounds quite nice.

Dear Blog, Sorry I've been neglecting you lately. I've just been in a funk. I just simply haven't been in the mood. Does this happen to anyone else?

Dear Bank Account, I'm getting pretty tired of sending you letters. Why can't you just listen to me once and skyrocket. I'm getting sick of stressing about money every single day of my life. Quite frankly, it gets old.

Dear Mema, I'm glad that you made it through another surgery like a champ. You're the strongest woman I know and I'm so glad we get more unexpected time with you.
{Wednesday night before surgery}

Dear Boyfriend, Thank you for being so amazing lately. You light up my life.. when you're not pissing me off ;)

Dear Hair, GROW! Seriously how many more times do I have to beg this of you. I've been taking Biotin, not regularly, but I haven't cut you in over a year.  You'd think I'd at least have long broken hair. Having to use extensions so often gets rather annoying.

Dear Life, I truly do love you, even though I complain about bills, family issues, my hair not growing and a million other things daily.

Just gotta remember this quote I shared on my Facebook a few days ago:
What we take for granted someone else is praying for.
Oh, how true it is.

If you can dream it, you can achieve it!

Thursday-- I went to see the midnight showing of The Hunger Games and I absolutely LOVED it. I loved how they didn't deviate from the book hardly at all. I would definitely recommend both the book and the movie to anyone who is considering checking them out!

Friday -- I left work at 3 and we went to the Bay Hill Invitational. Tiger walked right next to me and I got to watch him play. Being that it was my first golf tournament, I thought it was pretty neat!
Tiger on the 18th hole :)

Saturday -- it was my cousin's baby shower, she is having TWINS (boy & girl)! I can't decide if I'm jealous or I feel bad for her ;) Anyhoo, my sister and I decided late Friday night that we should make her a diaper cake. So that's what I did that night, my sister stayed for moral support.

My little cousin showcasing our toilet papered diaper we made in under 3-minutes. Our team won :) It may or may not have had something to do with the fact that I drew poop on the back and wrote Pampers on the front ;) They thought it was a great touch!

The winning team :) My Cousin, Aunt & I!

Sunday -- as per usual, it was a soccer day. After practice I found some time to study for the GRE, go me!

Monday -- my Mom & I took the little man to the happiest place on Earth, DISNEY WORLD! Honestly, I don't know who was more excited to see all the characters, Landyn or myself,  but we had a blast! We used to go ALL the time, like at least once a month, but I hadn't been in a few years so to say I was excited is an understatement.

Landyn's first Disney ride ever was It's a Small World. I thought it was pretty fitting because it was my favorite when I was little and it was the song that played in my crib!
Waiting in line for Dumbo :)
 Cinderella show -- MY FAV!
Waiting for the parade to come!
 Love me some Cinderella
Landyn loves both Mickey & Minnie!
Mickey Ice Cream
The Ferry back to our car. He kept repeating "I want boat"

After dropping the little monster off, I quickly changed and went to The Wine Room on Park Ave with my favorite friend from college :) We hopped around Park Ave to a few different bars and I didn't get to bed until past 1. Let's just say it wasn't easy to wake up yesterday!
When I dragged myself into work, Kate reminded me that we had a girls dinner that night. It had completely slipped my mind. We went to Stonewood Grill & Tavern and had some delicious food & drinks!

Well that was my weekend. I hope you wonderful ladies had just as much fun as I did :)

Way late weekend recap

Just thought I'd fill you in on my St. Patty's day festivities.

I got wild.

Saturday morning, I woke up feeling like a million bucks. I thought my sickness had gone to bother someone else, although I don't wish what I had on anyone.

Of course, since I didn't get to see him Friday, Landyn was the first person I couldn't wait to see. Mickey D's was the first stop of my rockin' day. Landyn loves playing in the play place and my mom and I love that it's air conditioned.

Then it was time to make the Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies in honor of my Irish roots - dyed green, of course ;)

& watched two movies to top off my day.
Yes, this movie was extremely corny and there were some parts I could have done without, but I still thought it was adorable. Any movie that features dancing it OK in my book :)
I honestly thought I didn't like this movie, but it was different and I love movies that I can't predict or seem to mock real life. Although I love me a good chick flick, I also enjoy not always having a happily ever after type story.

Sunday, I took Landyn to soccer practice. He is looking adorable, as per usual.

Since it was scorching hot during practice, we headed to my pool after to soak up some rays.
Of course, I had to get some friend time in. We had some drinks then went back to her place to talk and played catch phrase until the wee hours in the morning!
Little did I know my sickness only teased me by staying gone throughout Sunday. It came back with a bang on Monday and left me practically immobile. After running my errands, I never left the house again. Luckily, I was able to research a ton of GRE information from my comfy couch!

That is my way late weekend recap.

I'm looking forward to this coming weekend for sure :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

As always, linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday. Head on over to her blog and join us :)

This week...

I'm loving that the time has come. Tomorrow at 12AM sharp I'll be sitting in a theater watching what I've waited so long for, THE HUNGER GAMES!

I'm loving that I'm finally feel back to normal after a weekend of up & downs. It took me awhile, but I'm happy to say that I've made a full recovery.

I'm loving that I'm currently drinking a yoo-hoo. My favorite pastime.

I'm loving that I have officially decided to take the leap into a graduate program. I had been toying with the idea since before I got my Bachelor's. Little did I know, I wouldn't be able to shake the fact that I need my Master's. Not for a particular job, just for myself. My goal is to start in the fall. GRE - here I come! Any tips for taking it would be EXTREMELY helpful. I'm kind of lost with the whole thing right now, since it's only been a few days since I started looking into it. It has be taken, with an acceptable score, in 6 weeks. EEK!

I'm loving these cute outfits. Opposite ends of the spectrum but equally adorable!

Last but certainly not least, a case that touches my heart.

I'm loving how passionate people are getting about the Trayvon Martin case. George Zimmerman, the man who shot him said he looked 'suspicious.' Apparently you can be suspicious by just being a young black kid in a gated community. All Trayvon had on him was his cell phone, a bag of skittles and tea, yet was shot to death after Zimmerman chased him to figure out what he was doing in the neighborhood. Zimmerman chased him, not the other way around. THEN he claims self-defense after shooting the 17-year old to death. REALLY? Just disgusting.
Sometimes I'm sadden by what other civilians to do cause harm to innocent victims. Other times, I get really proud of what we as civilians will do  to ensure justice. This case is making headlines all around the nation and people are signing a petition to get the case looked at again, because it was clearly NOT self-defense. They have also staged candlelight vigils that were peaceful and without riot, just to get their point across. We are always focusing on the bad and sometimes it's hard to see the good in people. This case is bringing out the good in everyone.

Happy Hump Day :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm back from my cruise. We had a blast! More on that later, but first..

I'm loving that it's Wednesday and there are only two days left in the work week.

I'm loving that Disney is open for 24-hours today to celebrate leap year. I would love it even more if I was going. I was trying to win tickets on my way to work, but after 63 calls it was an epic fail.

I'm loving that me nephew starts soccer and his first game is next Sunday. I'm going to be the crazy aunt acting like it's the World Cup every game.

I'm loving that I saw This Means War last night and, personally, thought it was hilarious. We brought in mini wine bottles and it was perfect :)

I'm loving that the Diabetes walk is this weekend at UCF. I'll be working the t-shirt tent with some friends. I love helping and it will be a great day - minus waking up at 5:45AM.

I'm loving that I brought alfredo linguine and a caesar salad for lunch. The cruise killed my diet and I'm just carrying that over. I'm eating everything I've missed :)

I'm loving that my bridesmaid dress came in yesterday. Now I just have to find time to pick it up!

I'm loving that we are 2-steps closer in the bachelorette party planning. Can't spill deets because the bride frequents my blog ;)

What are you loving today?

The Ship of Dreams

I had a different post prepared for tonight, but I saw Titanic on and I haven't been able to think straight since it started.

Can you blame me? This is what I've been looking at

I can't honestly say I'm upset about it.

The only problem I have is that every time I see this movie, I can't help but wish that it would end differently. I want Jack to live in the end. I feel like it was all for nothing.

For whatever reason, I've always been oddly obsessed with the story of the Titanic. And right when the movie started, I realized that come April, it will be exactly 100 years since the Titanic sank.

In Orlando, we have a place called Wonder Works. It has all kinds of neat things to see and do. They have a tank of water for you to put your hand in to feel what the water was like on that night. My hand can't even stand it in there for longer than a few seconds, I can't imagine what those people felt like that night.

Well now that I've thoroughly depressed myself, I'm going to hit up a few games of Scramble with Friends and lay down.

50/50

Lasagna was, as always, a successful dinner.

As I mentioned yesterday, we watched 50/50. You hear Seth Rogan is one of the main characters and you immediately think that it's just going to be another one of those hilarious movies. Boy was I wrong. It was sad, like overflowing, can't control my tears sad. Sure Seth Rogan's character added a few humorous spots, but it was not what I expected.
Joseph Gordan Levitt plays the main character, he finds out he has cancer and has a 50/50 chance to live. I won't spoil the movie for any of you who might want to see it, but it was just terrible. I felt so bad for his character the entire movie.

All-in-all it was a great movie, I just didn't prepare myself for that type of movie.

This weekend is the much anticipated 2nd birthday of this little guy:

His actual birthday is tomorrow, but we are throwing the big bash on Saturday. My sister and I have been hard at work perfecting every single detail for his Sesame Street themed day. I can't wait to share all the exciting things we have planned for him!

Tomorrow I'm going over to have chocolate chip pancakes with him for breakfast and then after work we are taking him to Chuck E Cheese to play some games.

We went there this weekend and this boy thought he was the only person there. He was obsessed with the mini basketball game and wouldn't allow anyone else to play. Hopefully it will be a little less busy on a Thursday and he can play as much as he'd like.

I still haven't brought myself to buy my bathing suits yet. I created my cart the other night and it was $600. Needless to say, I need to start from scratch and only get the 'necessities.'

Even worse, I got another student loan bill from a place I've never even heard of. They are saying my monthly bill is $150, not to mention the $200 I already pay. Umm, that is not feasible at this moment in time.

What I need to do is consolidate all of them. I'm being charged interest ranging from 5.5%-6.8% all separately on 8 different loans. Consolidation advice is what I need right now. Anyone else in this boat, or has been in the past, that can offer any advice? I don't want to apply for deferment or forbearance, I just want them to all be together and only have one interest rate. I'm basically paying 40% interest right now and that just doesn't seem right to me.

Breaking Dawn

I had planned to write a long updating blog post tonight, but my eye lids had other ideas in mind.

I definitely want to give a huge THANK YOU to Maggie for the sweet award she gave me. I promise to pay it forward just as soon as I catch up on my zzZZ's :)

This quick post will just be a quick update on my opinion of Breaking Dawn. Although I didn't go see it on Thursday night, I did finally go on Sunday, and then again tonight :)

I thought it was INCREDIBLE. I loved how they stuck to the book so perfectly. In my opinion, it was seriously the best one yet. Without a doubt. \

Playing the music from the first movie definitely helped evoke all those feelings back in me from when I first fell in love with the books and then the first movie.  I don't think they could have done it better.

I'm off work until next Tuesday. Perks of having the best job, ever ;)

Bridesmaid dress shopping tomorrow with Kate. I hope we can find the perfect dresses for us girls. One step closer to having everything checked off her long list of wedding to do's!

Toodles!
