Memorial Day Weekend

I'm just now getting back into the swing of things after such an amazing long weekend.
Our CEO emailed us on Friday thanking us for all we do and said we could leave at 2. I was in St. Augustine laying by the pool at 3:30. What a blessing.

St. Augustine is such a special place for my family and I was thrilled that we got to spend some quality time altogether in place that it so near to all of our hearts.
After 3 amazing days with the family, I headed home to the boyfriend. We celebrated Memorial Day by playing drinking, eating and playing volleyball & beer pong! Our friend Mark is a Marine so we always spend this day with him and the boys drink Budweiser. (they say it's America's beer)
I can't explain in words how perfect this weekend was for me. Life has been somewhat hectic over the past few months. Sometimes getting away from everything and spending time with people that matter the most is all the therapy you need.

But seriously  is there any better way to celebrate all of the brave soldiers than living life to the fullest? I think not.

Where we belong.

Not sure If I've mentioned it before but I'm an avid reader.

Reading takes me to another place.

And throws me into a different life.

It's peaceful. And who doesn't love a little peace every now and again?

My favorite author for a fun summer reading is Emily Griffin.

For those of you who aren't familiar with her, she wrote all of these stellar books.
Truth be told it was a little hard for me to get into love the one you're with.

BUT..

I'm not one to hold grudges so I'm dying to read her new release
I'd like to get one more book in before this semester starts.

Being as that is on Monday and I have a jam packed weekend, I doubt that will happen.

Fingers crossed.

Has anyone read this one yet?

If you have, what are your thoughts? I'd love to hear!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

What I'm Loving Wednesday with Jamie

I'm loving that my nephew is spending the night with me tonight.

I'm loving that it's Wednesday. Only two more days of waking up early until the weekend. It's odd, I still find myself waking up just as early on the weekends, but something about it not being forced wakes me up more.

I'm loving this picture I found that could have easily been made by me :)
I'm loving that this weekend is Cinco de Mayo. To be honest, I want to do nothing but sleep but I'm sure the next 72-hours will change my mind.

I'm loving Fifty Shades of Grey. I said it in one of my last posts and I'll say it again - this book is incredible. I finally got some time to read last night after getting home at almost midnight. So happy to say that I finished the first book and I'm dying to start the second. Granted, I had to stay up to 2 in the morning, but it was well worth the lack of sleep. Way to leave me hangin', EJ James.

I'm loving that I'm Jessica Simpson has finally given birth. I'm not loving the name though, Maxwell Drew Johnson. Did I mention it was a little girl? What's up with celebs always wanted to have something ridiculously different? Not a fan. While we're at it, I would have preferred the last name to be Lachey ;)

I'm loving that we went to a new place for dinner last night. Truth be told, the most frustrating thing about everyday is agreeing where/what we will eat. When a new place opens, I know that will be one less day of decision making. The bonus was the the food was good and my wine came in this nifty little bottle - plus, it was TWO glasses :)
Happy Hump Day! What are you loving this Wednesday?

Fifty Shades of Grey

One of my friends recommended this book to me. She let me know that multiple people hada suggested it to her so I felt pretty confident that I would enjoy it.

A few days later, I saw them talking about it on Chelsea Lately and even saw it on E! News. I knew that I had to give it a shot. Lucky for me, it was my turn to pick our next book club book.
Well I started last night and, let's just say, I'm officially hooked. I'm only 33% complete and already this book has a hold on me. Unlike most books, the beginning doesn't drag and you immediately feel connected with the characters. I'm wishing I didn't have to work today, I'm wishing I didn't have lunch plans with a friend, I'm wishing I had anytime at all to sneak in even a few more pages. It's extremely intense and definitely not the type of details I typically like to read, but there is something about it that captivates you. Actually, I suppose it is similar to being in the presence of Christian Grey. Thankfully, it's a trilogy so I get to read a few more books before having to say goodbye to Ana and Christian, at least I hope so.

If you're looking for a great book, I would suggest Fifty Shades of Grey. It's extremely graphic so I would read the synopsis before diving in. it's one of those books that you can't put down and that's always a good sign.

That is all for now :)

We Need to Talk about Kevin

Right now, I feel mentally and emotionally exhausted.

All I want right now is to  to be at this location
 Reading this club book

Instead I'll settle for doing this exact thing, but in a different setting. Hello, comfy bed!

'We Need To Talk About Kevin". Last month's book was not my favorite so I'm really hoping this a good one :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

As always, I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday.  Head on over and join us!

These outfits are perfect for coming into the Spring/Summer seasons.
Coral & Navy color combo - Love
JCrew Chinos, yes please!

New polishes to add to my nail gallery :)

Essie- "Van D'Go"
 Essie- "Sag Harbor"
 Essie- "Haute as Hello"

I just adore this cute little two piece bikini.

Perfectly stacks for this watch. I badly want the rose gold bracelet directly next to that gorgeous MK watch. The blog that added this doesn't show where they came from :( That should be illegal!

I've had a migraine for what feels like 24-hours, even if it hasn't been constant. I want nothing more than to be laying down in bed reading my book club book for this month. Not to mention, we meet tomorrow and I'm on page 16 ;) If you'd like to join us in reading, it's called Secrets of Eden by Chris Bohjalian.

Happy Hump Day :)

Party time!

Good news!

We have finally decided on a location for Katie's Bachelorette Party- Clearwater Beach :)

That is just about all the Katie gets to know. Now, we get done to the real deets, which will have to be kept on the low down since she is a fellow blogger.

Last night we had book club. Love wine, books, friends, and the fact that I said no to all the delicious fruit & cheese platters and pizza!

Our next book is Room by Emma Donoghue
Let me know if you'd like to read along because I'm definitely the type of gal that could use a good ear when I'm reading.

It's Fridy, Friday, gotta get down on Friday.

I'm SO looking forward to the weekend!

That was all the infamous Friday song by Rebecca Black. They blast it over the stereo for the entire office to hear every Friday morning. Naturally it gets stuck in my head, so I had to pass it along ;)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's been awhile since I've linked up with Jamie so what better time than today :)

I'm loving this book by Nicholas Sparks that I started last night. So much so, that I couldn't put it down and went to sleep super late!

I'm loving that my 'new years resolution' was to lose weight. Well, not really, but since it happened a little before and I never made a resolution, I'll just put them together. I didn't make a commitment to work out or eat no carbs. However, I made a commitment to lose weight. If this means eating healthier for a few days and then work out the next week, so be it. I didn't give myself stipulations or rules, just that it needs to happen.

It's been about 2 weeks and I am already seeing changes, which is amazing and making me feel so much better about myself.

I'm loving these adorable outfits. One might have to wait until Spring time though :)

I'm not sure when these shoes would be appropriate, besides another year from last Saturday, but I just adore them.

I just thought this couch was awesome. Possibly for my office in my future home? You can never have enough space for friends and family to stay over!

LOVE this Rolex with a coral background

I love that I'm making the best of today. Good or Bad :)

I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes by Ms. Monroe. Overplayed or not, that woman sure had a ton of inspirational things to say.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'll have an update of my no plans weekend that turned into a ton of fun, combined with lots of alcohol later :)

I'm loving that we had book club last night and it was a huge success! Wine, fruit, cheese, bruschetta, crackers, spinach dip, and lots of discussion.  Our next book is by Jodi, yet again. No complaints here, she is one of my favorite authors. I'm not sure what it is about yet, reading the back is a no-no for me, but I'm sure it will be splendid.

My friend, Steph, being super classy with ice in her wine ;)

I'm absolutely loving Essie- Marshmallow :)

I'm loving these pictures found on Pinterest. They had me crying yesterday.

This last one realistically could have been my invention. When we shop with my nephew, it is near impossible to try on clothes unless we take turns.

I'm loving that I get to watch Real Housewives of Beverly Hills tonight without any interruptions.

I'm loving my gorgeous nephew. We got to spend the entire day on Monday together and I loved every second it. He melts my heart every time I think about him.

I'm loving that I completely decorated my apartment for Christmas, while simultaneously listening to Christmas music. The Grinch is definitely not one of my ancestors.

I'm loving that I actually did a few DIY Christmas crafts that I found on Pinterest. Pictures soon to follow.

I'm loving that I was just reminded that Thanksgiving is next week. For some reason, I was thinking we still had another work week to go.

Adding to that love, is the fact that we get Wednesday, Thursday & Friday off, including the following Monday.

What are you loving today?

Tuesday Ramblings

My shopping trip was a success. I got 2 pairs of boots, including the ones below, 3 pairs of jeans and a shirt. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any coral or teal pieces. Come out, come out, wherever you are.

On my way out of H&M, I saw this sweet sweater and I was too lazy to go back to the register to purchase it. Now I'll just have to waste more time sometime this week to go back and get it. You can never have enough classic white tops.

My little munchkin did well at his second annual trick or treating adventure. He was Tigger- was he not the cutest little tiger you have ever seen? Ah, I just love that child.

Book club is back and in full affect. We picked Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult. Jodi Picoult books are simply my favorite read. Growing up I always wanted to be a lawyer so I love she incorporates some type of court case in every book. I can never put her books down and I don't expect this one to be any different. Glad I have some extra time on my hands.

I'm itching to change my bedroom color scheme. Unfortunately, because we rent, I don't want to paint the walls only to paint them back in 5 months when our lease is up. Since I am the complete opposite of a procrastinator, I have started my planning now.

Black, gray and charcoal will be my new color palette.

This is a starting off point for my plan.

I want the accent wall above the bed to be charcoal gray matte, with charcoal gray gloss using this design. Not sure what/if anything I would do with the other walls, definitely something light to avoid making the space look to cramped.

That was probably the most random post ever but that is what was on my mind :)
