Acceptance..

With the wedding, birthdays and everything else going on, I almost forgot to mention that I got incredible news last Friday. Something that I'm sincerely very proud of.. I was accepted into the grad program at the only school I applied to, UCF - my Alma Mater!

Check out this baby!
Truth be told, I kind of distanced myself from the whole idea of going back to school because in my heart of hearts I was certain that I wasn't going to get in. I couldn't stomach the rejection so I decided to just pretend that it was no longer one of my goals.

I'm so happy that I even took the chance by taking the GRE and applying. It's something I typically don't do because I have an unwavering fear of rejection. It's definitely something that I'm working on, but it doesn't go away overnight.

Now it's time to start planning how to pay for it. Boy do I wish I could get a scholarship or  some kind of assistance that doesn't require me to take out more loans since I'll be paying off the ones I already have until 2021.. not exaggerating.

Oh well, for now I'm just going to be proud. Proud that I tried, proud that I got in and proud that I'm accomplishing things that I always wanted to, yet never believed I could actually do.

The road to the altar..

This past weekend we celebrated one of my best friends weddings. It was truly an amazing weekend and one that I'll never forget. We kicked off the festivities Friday with the "I Do BBQ" which consisted of cowboy boots, bbq, bandanas, WINE and lots of fun. The room was beautifully decorated and even more importantly filled with love. I can't lie, we did get super classy and play flip cup once a lot of the older people left. Then we all headed to a local country bar for their opening night. We sure stuck to the theme! We had a blast and may or may not have ended the night with a trip to Mc. Donalds. What the bride wants, the bride gets! :)
When we woke up bright and early, and hungover, it was time to start primping for the big day. Katie had breakfast delivered for us, as well as Publix Subs and a gorgeous fruit tray that we had to fill our stomachs. She prepared us well for a day filled with drinking. A lady came who did all of our hair and makeup. Katie was perfectly calm and relaxed, almost too calm. I kept trying to ask if if it hadn't set in yet because she was just hanging out like any other day. I guess that's a good thing :)
A trolley (um how cute?) picked us girls up and took us to the church. On the way she gifted us with monogrammed totes, monogrammed clutch size bags, infinity gold bracelets that we're seriously TO DIE FOR (can you tell that I'm obsessed?), mini shot bottle and cool stunner shades for our grand entrance into the reception. Everything in the bag was amazing, but I have to say the card was most touching of all. The whole getting ready and champagne induced ride to the church was surreal and incredible. Definitely perfect moments that will last a lifetime!
After the I DO's, the whole bridal party was back on the Trolley headed to the reception where we made patterned up with the guys and each did a fun dance when we entered. Thank God for the shades. Once they were on, I didn't have any fear. OK, it was also the alcohol. Some of us took a shot of Gentlemen Jack on the way to the reception. I had never tried it and it wasn't half bad!
Jason's best man seriously delivered the best speech I've ever heard. If I had a copy, I'd love to share it with you. The night consisted of a TON of drinks, dancing and FUN! Surprisingly, there were no "Oh My, that just happened" moments. Everything went according to plan, which I know Katie was thrilled about.
We brought the celebration downtown after the reception because we just didn't want the day to end. I can't describe in words how amazing the day truly was but I'm so happy I got to be a part of such a special day in their lives.
So cheers to you guys. I hope you have a marriage more beautiful than your wedding. I know that's setting the bar high but if you can do that, you'll have nothing to worry about ;)

The Big 26!

Seriously, I couldn't have better co-workers. Upon walking into the office this morning, I was greeted with a gorgeously decorated desk filled with photos of Channing Tatum. Literally, filled. They were under my mouse, on my chair (front and back), scattered around my desk, on my stapler, on my monitor, EVERYWHERE. They know me all to well :)
Are they not just the best?

My boss even showed up with Chick Fila Tea & chicken mini's, which are both my absolute favorites. She is so thoughtful and got me both sweetened and unsweetened because I mix them to make the perfect concoction.
Last night the boyfriend and I hit up Brio for an early birthday dinner since we're going to be going to dinner with my parents tonight at KOBE. He has to work after dinner for the rest of the weekend so I'm going out with friends tonight then St. Augustine for the weekend so we thought we'd get a little bit of us time.

This weekend we're going to the Annual Flip Flop Til You DROP pub crawl on St. Augustine beach. I'm really excited for all the festivities. I may be 26, but I still know how to have fun. Well I may end my night 5 hours before I used to, but I'd like to think I still got it.. whatever "IT" is ; )

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Oh and I promise that the wedding weekend pictures will be up shortly.

Birthday Wish List

So my birthday is this Friday. I figured I'd dedicate an entire post to the goodies that have been on my radar. Enjoy!

This year I feel like there are so many things I want that I can't even figure them all out at this point. So here are just a few of the many things I've had my eye on for awhile.

Still unsure about the Temptu system but I'd love to try it out (again) to see if it's worth the hype. That, or I need to get to MAC for some good foundation. I've been slackin' in that department.

I'm loving Moroccan Oil Light. It's relatively new and is specifically made for blondie's. They also just came out with "It's a 10 light" for Blonde's but I haven't tried it yet. I hear it's amazing!

The most important part to me is the celebration though. As long as I have good friends, food and drinks, I'll be one happy birthday girl :)

Nola Trip

Since I haven't had time to explain my trip to New Orleans, I figured I'd just show you through pictures. We had a blast to say the least :)
Until we meet again, New Orleans :)

It's OK Thursday

It's OK Thusday with Amber and Neely

.. that I haven't posted in a week and not many times before that in the last month. Between traveling, the upcoming wedding, work and everything else, I just haven't had the time!

.. that I miss my Landyn so much. I've been so busy so I haven't been seeing him every single day like I normally do. I didn't see him yesterday so I'm going through withdrawals :(

.. that I have SOO much to do tonight, which includes washing & styling my hair and giving myself a mani/pedi. They are two things that are very time consuming when I have so much else to do.

.. that I tried on my bridesmaid dress for this weekend's wedding and it's all of a sudden HUGE on me. On my lunch break I'm going to find someone that will do a speedy alteration. Fingers crossed.

.. that I want these floats badly! I'm not a fan of the ocean or lakes, basically any body of water that I can't see what's below. Obviously I would have to make an exception for both of these.

.. that I didn't get home from work until 10 last night. This really was ok because we threw the future Mrs. Milton a surprise bridal shower at work and then we all headed out for HH, that ended up turning into a somewhat all night affair.
It was country themed because this girl loves her some country. Of course we had to have Sweet Tea Vodka & Lemonade as the signature drink!
We got her pink cowboy boots :)
I wore flannel just for her :) & trust, you don't see this all that often.
Cute cowboy boot Koozies and her personalized bridal mason jar glass :)
Just hanging out at Ember for Happy Hour with her fancy cup! ; )
.. that this post is so short. I have to get back to finding an immediate alterations lady :)

Happy Thursday!

It's OK Thursday

It's OK Thursday, as per usual :)

It's OK...

... that this weekend I hardly have any plans, except a hair appointment tomorrow and a birthday celebration for my Mema on Saturday.

.. that my roots are horrid. This is only OK because of said appointment.

.. that my nails are going commando today. And the fact that I put that a lot in my It's OK posts. What is it with my nails on Thursdays?

.. that everyday that I bring my lunch I have to try to talk myself into eating it rather than going out for lunch.

.. that I'm always fighting going on a shopping spree. I hate budgets. While I was in college, I worked (a lot) and never had to worry about money in ways that I do now. I guess because I know my paychecks are the same no matter what. I can't "pick up a shift" If I want to go shopping or on a vacation, I have to budget for it. Oh the joys of the 'real world'. I can't lie though, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

.. that I'm OBSESSED with the song Paradise by Coldplay. Listen to it, thank me later.

.. that I'm going to a wedding next week and still don't have a dress for the rehearsal dinner. Time is tickin'.

.. that mornings are the worst for me. It's just the first 15 minutes of getting up and after that I'm fine. I just wish the getting up part was a tad easier.

That's all for today. What is something that is OK for you?
