What I'm Loving Wednesday

What i'm loving Wednesday link up with Jamie again!

I'm absolutely positively LOVING the weather right now. It is beginning to feel a lot like fall-- & I couldn't be happier about it.

I'm loving that I got my first Brazilian Blowout this week. My hair is so silky smooth :)

A few of these fabulous finds from Pinterest

Michael Kors never seize to amaze me
Some shoes that I would love to add to my already overflowing shoe rack. In my mind, you can NEVER have too many shoes.

Not sure where I would wear this dress, but I would find a place just to wear this little white beauty
I MUST find this or figure out how to make it!

I'm also loving an episode of Dr. Phil that aired this week touching on the topic of bullying. I don't think there are too many things that are worse. Bullying is a huge problem in our schools these days and it has finally started getting the attention of many adults. I'm just hoping our schools can make some major changes soon without another life being taken due to suicide. It's sad to think that children get bullied so bad that they think take their own life would be better than enduring one more day of being bullied. The stories in this episode broke my heart.

Calling for a change--

I'm loving sayings that inspire me to be better. I'm going to do my best to live by this quote:

Happy Hump Day!

Walmart Escapades

Yesterday was a blast and i'm so happy I got to spend more time with my co-workers. After playing a TON of games, we headed downtown to dance the night away. After a few begging sessions, we were able to talk the DJ into playing some songs we could actually dance to and got the real party started.

Today, I went to pick up some stuff at Walmart and it reminded me why Target is typically my store of choice. My experience is summed up by looking pictures from this website.

Needless to say, I am going to do my best to steer clear of Walmart on Saturday afternoons in the future.

While i'm on the topic of grocery stores-- it bothers me that Publix doesn't have a place to put your carts. I get that they try to make 'shopping a pleasure' but for people like me, who actually put the cart back, it takes a lot longer to walk all the way up to the front. Just one of the many useless things I think about.

A Walk to Remember is currently on TV and i'm extremely happy. How can someone not love this movie? The soundtrack blows me away and thanks to this movie, my nephew has a name ;) No, but really, I did name him after Shane West's character.

I'll be babysitting my cousins tonight. The highlight of my day will be my number 5, 8 pack with a coke from Chick-Fila that I'll pick up on the way there. And, of course seeing my little cousins and spending even more time with my monster.

In the words of my Landyn, who said this for the first time last night, Night Night.

Another one down.

This hasn’t been the best week of my life, but it certainly could have been a lot worse. Let’s just say, a TON of family drama. I can’t lie, seeing the dynamic between other families makes me incredibly jealous  because of what I didn't have. I try not to feel sorry for myself but I just can’t help but think about how much better my life would be if I had a good support system that always had something to positive to say to me when times get hard. Unfortunately, times get hard because it is the complete opposite.

This post from Megan, one of my favorite blogs, filled me with envy and made me think about the kind of relationship I missed out on because my father was anything but a doting and loving dad.

Oh well, I know now that nothing I do can change the past, or even the future.  All I can do is provide that protection and support to my future children. Because, trust me, my household will be nothing like what my sister and I grew up in. I will always tell my children I love them, a million times a day. I will be there to listen to them and help them when they need it and I will never EVER call my terrible names. There is one positive to this whole situation and that is that I have been getting to wake up to my nephews adorable face every morning and everything we go through is worth it, because of him.

This is him last night before bed

He is such a blessing in my life :)

On a much lighter note...

Today is Izea Loco which is a fun filled day at a new location at the end of every quarter.  This time it is at Dave and Busters. Translation-- games, food, beer & FUN! Really looking forward to having a happy ending to this week.

Where will I end my night? Downtown, home cuddled up with my mini man, Europe?

No promises.

My shopping list for this weekend

Ok, ok-- I know, I have a severe mild loulou obsession.

So long sweet weekend.

The weekend is over and it's back to work as per usual. My weekend kicked off with my manfriend treating me to my favorite restaurant, Bonefish. This glorious creation keeps me coming back time after time. If you haven't tried their bang bang shrimp, run to the nearest Bonefish immediately. You can thank me later.
Paired with a nice glass of vino

The rest of my weekend was filled with friends, fun and lots of ice cold Mich Ultra. Due to the weather, it wasn't quite what I had envisioned, but it was exactly what I needed.

Time to dish on some good ole' reality TV

Kim's fairytale wedding aired this weekend. Maybe i'm hard to please, but I feel like something is off with Kris.  It doesn't seem to be as much as a 'fairytale' romance as they are making it out to be. To me, it was a rush to the alter because she wanted her happily ever after before finding the right guy. Hopefully they last because the last thing I would want is to wish ill will towards someones marriage but, unfortunately, I just do not see it lasting. From what I see, he is 'just not that into her'.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey did not fail to disappoint in the drama department. Theresa has gone, or has always been, loco. She does not have the character of someone that I would chose to surround myself with and i'm rather proud of everyone for finally seeing her true colors in this final episode. Who would have thought that the wannabe superstar sister-in-law would come out on top? My opinion of Melissa drastically changed from the first episode and I honestly think she is trying to make her family happy, while trying to rise to the top of the billboard charts. Who can blame her for actually going after a dream that most girls secretly have had at least one time in their lives? I'm certainly guilty of that.

I'll end with a quick vent session

Brad & Angelina are still together-- vomit!

As well as Nick and Vanessa-- </3

Waiting for the day when the world is right again and Nick & Jess are back together!

Have a Greeeeaaat week. Goodnight all!

Let the rain fall down

Thanks to the unpredictable Florida weather, I have off today. I work at an outdoor restaurant so when it rains, we close. No celebration of gay power, hours of work or money. Take the good with the bad.

I've decided to spend my day off going to lunch then watching some football at a local bar with some of my girlfriends. Having a few beers while watching my Noles and catching up with friends is my ideal Saturday. Who can blame me? The only thing that would make this situation better was if I was in Tallahassee watching the game live. Here are some pictures from last season where I was doing just that.

My little cousin, Prestyn.

My soulmate, Brittany.

& again at Doak Campbell Stadium

Nothing beats great times with good friends or good times with great friends! Words of wisdom from none other than MK & A :)

Happy Saturday to all!

T.G.I.F :)

Well, I made it-- it’s finally FRIDAY!

Honestly based on the way I was feeling, I thought Friday would never come again. It’s not even a terrible sickness, more of just an overall exhaustion.

What better way to kick off my weekend then to work a 13-hour shift? Tomorrow is the annual ‘Coming Out With Pride’ festival at Lake Eola. Patten leather and rainbow attire will be worn by all attending. It’s definitely a must see.  Last year I made shirts for the girls but due to the humidity, my iron on letters lasted only about 30 minutes. This year we are each going to wear different colored shirts that make up the rainbow to show our support. In past years, we have been the target for some rather unwanted sexual advances so here’s to hoping they realize we are supporting and not participating!

Once again, I have nothing planned for the remainder of my weekend.  To be honest, doing nothing is exactly what I want to do right now.  I do however see myself laying pool side with a Mich Ultra bottle to start off my Sunday. Did I mention that I see that every weekend and it has never happened?

One last thing that I want to share..

Meet Joyce Meyer

I’ll be the first to admit that I am the worst at attending church, partly because my parents never made it a priority when growing up and partly because I always have something that is ‘more important’ then waking up at 7AM on a Sunday to attend service. Luckily, one of my girlfriends introduced me to the app Daily Bible. Joyce Meyer has  daily sermons that only take up about 30 minutes of my time. Whenever i'm driving, sitting at home, doing laundry or just waking up in the morning, I put on the podcast and  listen to her devotions. No matter what your faith, you can always find the best life lessons from them. Overall, I just feel like being a better person when I finish, which is never a bad thing. So, if you are on-the-go and feel as if you just don't have the time to make it to church, then I would recommend this to you-- I promise she will not disappoint.

I leave you with something she said on one of the first devotions I tuned into.

"Wisdom always chooses to do now what it will be satisfied with later on"

Makes sense, huh?

Have a magnificent weekend :)

So Pinteresting

My lunch today has got me feeling very happy. We went to this new, to us, salad place called Eden Fresh.  They have different kinds of salad options but I opted for the create your own option.  Romaine lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, black olives, diced egg, all tossed in balsamic vinaigrette. It was delish. They have definitely gained a new customer in me.

Back to my train of thought. To put it simply..

Here are some outfits from my style pinboard

I’m not getting married anytime soon but what girl doesn’t dream of their wedding and plan their entire lives. Not to mention, my friend is getting married next June so I have an excuse to be looking at all these gorgeous ideas.

I’m not trying to fool anyone, including myself, I know I will never have the time to do half of the do-it-yourself projects on my board, but that doesn’t stop me from thinking about the creativity behind the people that invent these.

My days could be filled with nothing but pinning and that would make me perfectly happy.

:)
