Food Truck Date

Have you ever been to a food truck before?
It's one of my favorite low key things to do over the past few months.

Food trucks gatherings are popping up all over the place here in Orlando.
Every Wednesday a whole bunch of trucks get together over at Lake Lily in Maitland.
Last night, Justin and I decided to head up there to walk around and get some grub.
There are a variety of trucks parked in a line with all different kinds of food.
Sure beats having to agree on a restaurant ;)

I only opted for cheese fries since I met my Sister & Nephew at Buffalo Wild Wings after work. When Landyn didn't eat any of his dinner, I was there to save the day ;)

Every time I've gone to a food truck gathering they have someone playing music.
If you didn't already know, live music melts me.
It makes me the happiest person in the world - particularly piano or acoustic guitar.

The weather has been super kind over the past 48 hours.
I'm not going to get used to it because I know this city,
but I'm appreciating it while it's here.

Beautiful lakeview, live music & a variety of food.
Could it get much better?

All-in-all, I'm a food truck fan.

Remember that wedding I was in back at the end of June?

You know the one where we sang Call Me Maybe at every different location that we visited that day?
This would be the one I'm referring to.

Well the video came back yesterday. The Bride and I, along with everyone else that has viewed it are just OBSESSED.
They did such an amazing job putting it together.

If you didn't plan on having a videographer at your wedding, I bet this will change your mind. Sure pictures capture individual moments, but from what I know now, you can't truly get the feel of the whole experience unless you have a video.

Take a gander.

& they lived happily ever after... :)

You can read more about their story over at Kate's blog, Sweet Southern Sunshine.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Instead of the normal WILW, I decided to participate this week with some funnies that I found.

The dumbest things make me laugh.
Hope you enjoy these as much as I did. :)

The Final Goodbye

I'm back from an emotionally and physically draining weekend.
Well, I actually got back yesterday but was just not in the blogging mood.
My emotions are still a little whacked out.

All I wanted to do was relax, but instead I ended up planning the entire funeral, I did the grocery shopping, made the slideshow, created the programs and bookmarks, took my Mema shopping for an outfit and did my best to organize the reception.

When all this happened what I needed was to be with family.
Whoever says you can never have enough family time has never met my family.
While I love them, it's exhausting putting up with everyone's personalities
and the amount of people is just overwhelming in itself.

We spent many hours before bed telling stories about my Papa's life
and the memories that we each shared about him.
It's exactly what he would have wanted.
It's amazing how looking at photos & hearing stories of a long and happy life can bring you peace.

The funeral itself was beautiful and you could really feel the love.
My speech was difficult to get through but I enjoyed listening to everyone else's stories.

I don't have all the photos right now because my phone was MIA the majority of the weekend and other than the photos that other people took, I barely took pictures.
My Grandparents wedding song was the final song played at the service.
They truly do have an amazing love story.
I'm so thankful for everything they both have brought to my life.

I will love and miss you forever, Papa.

Heavy Heart

On Tuesday, I got an email from my mom after lunch that I was completely unprepared for.
My Papa passed away earlier that morning.

You may remember me talking about my last visit with him here.

He was diagnosed with Parkinson's a few years ago but only recently developed dementia.
While we understood that death was inevitable, we still thought we had more time.
Time ran out.

At the age of 26, I've been fortunate to have all 4 of my Grandparents- until Tuesday.
Not many people even meet there Grandparents so I know how lucky I am.
I just wasn't ready for this one - at all.

My Papa was a great man.
He always had the best stories from the war and his life, which he loved to share.
He will be missed by so many.

After work I'm headed to Avon Park to spend some much needed family time.
My Mema is probably the strongest person I know, but nothing beats the support & love of family.

I'm in the process of putting together a slideshow that we be shown at the funeral on Saturday. Unfortunately, I don't have many of the photos on this computer, but here are some over the past few years.

Presidential Debate

I've been MIA on le blog lately.
I'll explain why at a later date.

Just wanted to stop by and make sure everyone is tuning into the Presidential Debate.
While I don't like to discuss politics on my blog or with pretty much anyone,
I do feel that it's important to be educated on both candidates and their policies.

& of course, don't forget to VOTE!
November is coming up quick.
You DO have a voice.

Weekend Update

My weekend really only consisted of Saturday.

Friday night I babysat my sweetheart and then went to a local bar with a few friends before calling it a night and finishing getting everything together for Tampa in the morning.

We got to Tampa WAY later than I wanted to, but 11:30 was still much earlier than everyone else so it ended up working perfectly.

Here is a picture of some of the family while tailgating.
We were all pretty drunk so we went back to the Embassy for Happy Hour and then called it a night at around midnight. WEAK.

The Noles won though.
YAY!

I was planning on meeting up with some friends but with no sober drivers and a 30 minute cab ride ahead of me, I decided to stay in.

Luckily I did, I proceeded to act like a 21 year old the next morning at breakfast periodically running to the bathroom.
I even had a bag with me for the car ride home, which I used..
multiple times.

After babysitting for a little bit, I rented The Lucky One, made Chicken & Dumplings and laid on the couch for the remainder of the day.

That is my weekend in a nutshell.

I officially cannot hang like I use to.
It's a sad sad day when you realize that.
