What I'm Loving Wednesday

As always, linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday. Head on over to her blog and join us :)

This week...

I'm loving that the time has come. Tomorrow at 12AM sharp I'll be sitting in a theater watching what I've waited so long for, THE HUNGER GAMES!

I'm loving that I'm finally feel back to normal after a weekend of up & downs. It took me awhile, but I'm happy to say that I've made a full recovery.

I'm loving that I'm currently drinking a yoo-hoo. My favorite pastime.

I'm loving that I have officially decided to take the leap into a graduate program. I had been toying with the idea since before I got my Bachelor's. Little did I know, I wouldn't be able to shake the fact that I need my Master's. Not for a particular job, just for myself. My goal is to start in the fall. GRE - here I come! Any tips for taking it would be EXTREMELY helpful. I'm kind of lost with the whole thing right now, since it's only been a few days since I started looking into it. It has be taken, with an acceptable score, in 6 weeks. EEK!

I'm loving these cute outfits. Opposite ends of the spectrum but equally adorable!

Last but certainly not least, a case that touches my heart.

I'm loving how passionate people are getting about the Trayvon Martin case. George Zimmerman, the man who shot him said he looked 'suspicious.' Apparently you can be suspicious by just being a young black kid in a gated community. All Trayvon had on him was his cell phone, a bag of skittles and tea, yet was shot to death after Zimmerman chased him to figure out what he was doing in the neighborhood. Zimmerman chased him, not the other way around. THEN he claims self-defense after shooting the 17-year old to death. REALLY? Just disgusting.
Sometimes I'm sadden by what other civilians to do cause harm to innocent victims. Other times, I get really proud of what we as civilians will do  to ensure justice. This case is making headlines all around the nation and people are signing a petition to get the case looked at again, because it was clearly NOT self-defense. They have also staged candlelight vigils that were peaceful and without riot, just to get their point across. We are always focusing on the bad and sometimes it's hard to see the good in people. This case is bringing out the good in everyone.

Happy Hump Day :)

Shopping list

The bug that has been going around my family has finally caught up to me. Let's just say I was up all night and couldn't keep anything down :( I haven't moved from my bed all day.

I was able to put together a little shopping list that I think I'll go in search for once I'm all better.

These Lauren Conrad platforms are SO gorgeous. Must get soon.

It's OK Thursday!

It's OK Thursday with Neely and Amber. If you want to join in on the fun,  head on over to their blogs and link up with us :)

It's OK...

.. that I was exhausted last night and only got about half way though my book club book. The way I see it, once I get home from work today I have two hours to finish the book and make it there.

.. that I was in no mood to do my hair this morning. Can you say air dry?

.. that today at Jimmy John's it's $1 sub day and I already know that no matter what time I go, there will be a line around the building. Waste my time to save some moolah or just eat something at the office? Let's be serious though, everything tastes better when it's free or cheaper than usual!

.. that I REALLY want all 4 of these Loren Hope necklaces

{via}

.. that my company has a platform called Sponsored Tweets. It allows Advertisers to connect with different Tweeters that would like to advertise their product. In turn, those Tweeters get paid. It would be extremely helpful to help others with any questions they have if I could get in the system myself. Of course I have admin capabilities, but it would be nice to 'see what they see'. Problem is, you must have at least 50 followers on Twitter to be accepted into the program. I'm at 49 (pathetic, I know).. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you'd like, you can follow me here :)

.. that my friend Steph is getting her boobs done in exactly 3 weeks and I'm extremely jealous! Shout out to you, my friend ;)

.. that I originally thought my student loan payment was $175/mo, then another company sent me something say I had to pay $50/mo. A few days ago, I found out that my payments were actually $300 a month, but since I paid last year before I was required too, they had been saving that money towards the payments for when I started. Sketch.

.. that I'm getting the itch to get my Masters again, yet don't want to even think about taking out a loan. Does anyone know of places that offer scholarships for a Masters degree? From what I hear, they are pretty non-existent.

.. that my boyfriend work Monday & Tuesday night from 7PM-7AM and he works the same hours Fri/Sat/Sun of this weekend. The only two days he has off were yesterday and today, and I'm not seeing him at all. Bad timing or bad girlfriend? My bad.

.. that I'm really excited to not do anything this weekend. I know it's St. Patty's day, but I really think I need a low key weekend. I'm sure I'll end up making plans, but I would like to keep my commitments to a minimum. All I know is that I'll be attempting these delicious cookies that Christina posted.

.. that I'm all out out of things to say.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

As always, I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday.  Head on over and join us!

These outfits are perfect for coming into the Spring/Summer seasons.
Coral & Navy color combo - Love
JCrew Chinos, yes please!

New polishes to add to my nail gallery :)

Essie- "Van D'Go"
 Essie- "Sag Harbor"
 Essie- "Haute as Hello"

I just adore this cute little two piece bikini.

Perfectly stacks for this watch. I badly want the rose gold bracelet directly next to that gorgeous MK watch. The blog that added this doesn't show where they came from :( That should be illegal!

I've had a migraine for what feels like 24-hours, even if it hasn't been constant. I want nothing more than to be laying down in bed reading my book club book for this month. Not to mention, we meet tomorrow and I'm on page 16 ;) If you'd like to join us in reading, it's called Secrets of Eden by Chris Bohjalian.

Happy Hump Day :)

My weekend in photos.

Instead of explaining each detail of my weekend, I decided to show you :)

After getting off work Friday, I picked up my little munchkin from daycare, played with him for a few hours and then dropped him off and got ready for a fun date night out :)

We went to a place called Gargi's Lakside right on Lake Ivanhoe in Downtown Orlando.

In my opinion, nothing beats the Orlando skyline. Something about this town just makes me feel secure. It has, and always will be, my safe place

I sipped on Fox Hollow Chardonnay. It was the first time I had tried this particular brand and, to my surprise, it was incredible.  For dinner, I had a linguine aioli dish with shrimp (top left). To say that it was delicious would not be doing it justice. I ate every last bite.

Then we headed to this place called Jazz Tastings. It's a new Tapas/Jazz/Wine bar in Maitland. Once again, I went for my trusty Chard and was just as pleased. This one was called 746, or something along those lines. Then, we ordered some Beef Filet Tornados that were mouthwatering (bottom right). They are prepared with wilted swiss chardonnay (sold), saffron butter pons fondant, and a black beer demiglace. I was so stuffed from dinner, but we still ate every last bite!

Little photo sesh with my love

Saturday morning, Landyn and I had Chick Fila all to ourselves from 8:30-9:30. Once the big kids get there, it's not as fun. I'm too worried about them stomping all over him, so this was perfect.

It was my little cousin Prestyn's birthday party later that day. He had 12 of the 18 kids in his class come. I'm not sure if that's normal, but I was shocked by that number, especially because I hear he is a little trouble maker lol.. Go Prestyn!

Luckily, my Mema was in town so we went over to mi madres house after the party to visit for a bit. I ended up having a little nail polish accident, resulting in an entire bottle of Essie's Too Too Hot all over me, Justin, my Mom's wall and wood floors. If you aren't familiar with that colors, it's a BRIGHT coral/orange. Sunday, I had to go buy Justin new shorts because the nail polish stain was a little past what the washer could fix. I'm such a Klutz.

Note to self: Make sure you put the cap back on after you are done with your toes and waiting to start your fingers. Also, be sure the cap is on before you shake it up.

Saturday night, we went to dinner with our friends Mark & Jenn to none other than good ole' Outback. None of us could think of anywhere new to go. Outback is right up the road and it's always the perfect go-to for situations like that. Plus, they have the Bloomin' Onion, which none of us can resist. My entree never changes, 6 oz Outback Special (medium), baked potato (no sour cream or chives,) and green beans. Yum!

Then it was time to party! Justin and I headed downtown for Kate's birthday celebration. She is a country girl, so we went to a new country bar downtown to get her country fix then, after, we went to another place to dance!

Sunday, was my Landyn's first soccer practice! He is just too cute for words. He got his uniform and he is lucky number 7! :)
It was definitely a birthday filled weekend. Sunday night we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill for Justin's Mom's birthday dinner. She saw a commercial about their new Zucchini Fritti appetizer and picked the restaurant simply for that reason. We got an order of it, thinking we weren't going to like it. Well we all loved it, so we got another. The flavor was incredible and the fact that they were so thinly sliced made it feel so light. As always, I chose the Penne Rustica as my entree. I'm a creature of habit, what can I say?

We went home and had a little visitor come over for a few hours. This is Mason, you might remember his story from here. He's so adorable and such a little fighter.

After Mason and his Daddy left, we settled in with the movie Jack & Jill and a batch of brownies :) Perfect night in!

Looky, Looky- I got this in the mail on Monday. A sweet handwritten letter with a perfect color combo Koozie from Marley Lilly. Score!

On Monday, Kate and I headed over to support our company in their flag football playoffs. We planned on just watching, but they were a girl short. One of my co-workers had yoga pants in the car so I threw those on, borrowed some guys shoes and stood in to make it 3 girls. I had a good laugh at my own expense.

Here are my enormous shoes.

Of course, I had to see my little man before heading home. Nothing makes me happier than seeing his face :)
My Mom told me that last night was the best night to see Venus, Mars & Jupiter so we had to check it out.

Here is Venus and Jupiter, side-by-side. What a beautiful sight.
Well there ya have it. My weekend was complete and filled with everyone I love :)

That's all folks!

KONY2012

If you haven't already watched this video, I suggest that you do so. It's motivating and heartbreaking all in one.

The video was made by an organization called Invisible Children. After it was released, some people have spoken out against them, claiming that only 31% of the funds that the organization receives goes to helping people. You can read more about their allegations here.  Invisible Children updated their blog in response by including a pie graph of where each dollar goes. Their goal is to raise awareness of this issue, so I realize that are going to be a lot of traveling, film production, and marketing expenses.

The organization gives you the option of buying a KONY2012 bracelet, shirt or action kit, as well as the opportunity to give a few dollars a month to support those in need. However, their primary goal is to bring down the LRA and stop Kony - so your money is NOT what they are after.

Although there are always going to be those people that try to imply that someone's positive efforts are in fact negative, the point is that everyone agrees on the main thing, Kony must be stopped!

If you haven't yet, please take the time to watch this video and sign the petition. I'm not asking anyone to purchase a thing, just to educate yourself on the subject. The United States will only use our resources to stop him until the end of 2012 so that's the deadline. The deadline to create awareness through every channel possible and the deadline to help those that can't help themselves.

Jewelry Dilemma

I've never been too interested with real jewelry. I know, what kind of girl am I? To be honest, I lose things daily and too many of my diamond bracelets, necklaces & rings have gone 'missing' in the past that I don't even allow myself to look at jewelry that has a price tag of over $20.

Not to mention, nothing is worse than losing something that someone else got you. The backlash is always 10 times worse. So, I have just sworn off diamonds and bling for years. My boyfriend can't stand it, because he always wants to buy me jewelry. I guess it's not such a bad problem to have ;)

But seriously, I switch things up so often that spending a ton of money on a necklace that I'll only wear once in awhile seems like a bit of a waste. To satisfy my addiction, I just buy tons & tons of fake jewelry. Crisis averted!

Here are some items that I currently have my eye on that go over the $20 mark. Gasp!

I've been wanting a sideway cross necklace for quite some time. This one is adorbs!
{via}

I love love key necklaces. This monogrammed one is genius!

Betsey Johnson, enough said.

To put it in perspective. I could get everything shown in the photo below for the price of the Betsey Johnson necklace.

When I spend too much on things, I have a huge case of buyers remorse. So what gives?

The question that I have for you ladies is what's more desirable - a few nice pieces or mass amounts of fake jewelry? #girlproblems

Thanks for all your input!

Going into the weekend, I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes :)
