Friday Fun

Today is the day that I have looked forward to all week. For no reason other than I have no plans, no prior engagements, no commitments, I'm free to go wherever the wind takes me. The wind is strongly pulling me towards going to see my nephew for a few hours and then curling up to finish the book that I started this week.

In honor of Veterans Day, I thought I would share this hilarious story that Kate showed me. Mind you, I may have missed the bus on this by a year or longer. I still think it is hilarious.

Now that you have had a good laugh, here are some outfits that I would like to recreate in the coming weeks. I WILL master the look, even if the colors are a tad different. Eventually I would like to start putting up some OOD's,I just have to remember to take a picture in the morning-- I'm not making any promises ;)

My friends know that I don't wear make-up. I put a little powder and blush and off I go. Before you die  of horror, let me say that I haven't always been like that. I used to go to MAC 4 times a week to get my make-up done before I went out, just because I loved how amazing they did my eyes.

I just go through phases where I can't leave the house without make-up and then some where I haven't worn any eye make-up, except maybe 8 times, in 3 years. Cray cray but TRUE!

Back to my train of thought, these pictures via Pinterest, have made me think that it's about time to change back into the old me, sans partying all the time.

I leave you with this amazing idea, that I'm sure all of my Pinterest lovers have seen, of the final photos of the Bride and Groom on their wedding day.

I'm off to our neighborhood bar to have a few cocktails with my boyfriends friends and their girlfriends. Unfortunately, my boyfriend has to work. BOO! Some of my girlfriends will be showing up after they get off work so it looks like I'll be having a fun night after all.

**Please note, I started this post earlier today and ended it later on. I did finish my book though :)

Have a lovely Friday!

It's Ok Thursday!

First, I would like to say a BIG Happy 236th Birthday to the Marine Corps & all of the troops that have, or currently are, fighting for our great nation. It is very easy to forget all of the things that are going on when we are here just living our normal day-to-day lives. So it's nice to have a day to be able to stop and remember all the men and women that risk their lives on a daily basis for our freedom.

It's Thursday & you know what that means. Time for some Ok's with Amber and Neely

It's ok that there is still one day left in the work week. Tomorrow is still Friday :)

It's ok that I'm really not liking the dress I wore to work. I loved it when I bought it, not so much now that I have worn it. That always seems to happen to me!

It's ok that besides a little downtown bar hoping Sunday Funday outing with one of my friends, I have absolutely no plans for the weekend. Obviously, I'll be spending the majority of my time with my nephew but no concrete plans have been established.

It's ok that The Band Perry won 75% of the awards last night, well maybe not, but that's what it seemed like. Don't get me wrong, I like their song, I just thought there were many other deserving people.

It's ok that the Margarita Ball is 2 weeks away and I have no friends that will be in town to attend. Crossing my fingers that something changes :)

It's ok that I missed a pretty awesome wedding this weekend. The pictures just went up and while looking at them I could picture myself with a drink in hand having just as much fun as it looks like everyone was having.

It's ok that Pinterest keeps giving me errors. It has been happening all week and it is making me a very unhappy girl. I miss the bug free Pinterest. Come back to me!

It's ok that I have not been very good at getting up in the morning. I literally sleep through 2 alarms. Luckily, I'm not late but I also don't get the luxury of not being in a rush every morning. I enjoy my time in the morning, I do not enjoy rushing.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Couldn't resist another link-up with Jamie at this kind of love.

I'm loving that I saw white tents set up on my way to work. I'm pretty positive that Christmas Trees will be sitting under those tents any day now.

I'm loving that my boyfriend has off tonight. I'm thinking dinner & Real World before he goes out with some of his friends tonight.

I'm loving that I had Jimmy John's for lunch today. My friend and I are completely addicted.

I'm loving all of these cute jackets for winter!

I'm loving that I still think I have time to find this dress, buy it, ship it and wear it before it is too cold :) It's a beaut, for sure!
I'm loving that I only have two more days of the work week. I have nothing planned for this weekend, but I'm sure I'll have no problems finding something exciting to do!

I'm loving that the fall weather, along with the brazilian blowout, has allowed my hair to stay silky smooth without any frizz getting in my way.

I'm loving Monograms. I want everything I own to have my monogram on it :)

I'm loving Marley Lily- Sure wish I could be pimped out with all of her products..

Just some examples :)

What are you loving this week?

Have a great WED-nes-day friends :)

Just a few pins..

I'm exhausted tonight so I'm about to hit the sack a bit earlier than usual.

Before I go into a coma, I thought I share a few things that I found on Pinterest this evening.

How cute is this? Dumb and Dumber is definitely a favorite of mine.

Loving these hairstyles & wishing I could master this first look. Unfortunately, I never quite learned how to french braid. I'm still regretting that to this day.

Just like any girl, I have been looking at dresses, rings, venues and everything that comes along with a wedding since I was young. Let's just say I had a Knot profile when I was 13. Anyway back to my point, this ring is to die for. I couldn't create a more perfect ring. This is absolutely 'the one.'

I also found these cute little cupcakes to make for my nephews second birthday coming up in January.  He loves Elmo so I think we will be throwing an Elmo themed party. What a perfect addition to the menu!

Now that I'm done with the most random post ever, I'm off to bed. Ta Ta!

& one last thing...

Happy Birthday to my sister. She is a pain in my butt 90% of the time. However, she did give me my amazing little nephew, so some appreciation is in order. She is still sick so we ordered Wing Stop at her request. Classy!

Weekend Wonders

Friday kicked off with a fun night with my boyfriends group of best friends and their girlfriends.

We went to see my favorite local band, The Murphy Project. They played downtown so we were able to bounce around to a couple different places before & after.

The lead singer brought his girlfriend on stage and proposed to her. I was able to catch this sweet moment on camera due to the perfect angle I had.

Oh, and she said YES, of course! :)

The entire day we were all looking forward to our pickle shot ritual. In fact, we had two rounds. They were amazing as always.

Fiesta in the Park is an annual arts and crafts festival downtown. This year I was able to attend it both Saturday with a friend and then again on Sunday with my boyfriend, two of our friends and my nephew.

We hung out with our old friend, Luke Bryan, on Saturday ;)

My boyfriends best friend was giving my nephew a birds eye view of the festivities and he was loving every second of it.

We had game night with a bunch of friends Saturday night. We ordered pizza, wings, had a few cocktails and played Guesstures. We all had a blast. There were many laughs at my expense. Let's just say I had trouble knowing where all of my internal organs are located.

Sunday night I went to a friends birthday celebration. They introduced me to a game called Flong a few weeks ago, it's beer cup and flip cup mixed together. My friend and I won 9 straight games, which brought tears to the eyes of many of the men there. That should keep sexist comments to a minimum.

Today, I had planned to get all of my errands and chores done. Unfortunately, my sisters health had other plans for me. She went to the doctor because she was sick all weekend and was hoping to get some medicine. She suffers from Asthma so they wanted to give her some medicine for that first so that they could accurately see how her breathing sounded. While at the doctor, they gave her the wrong medication and it caused an allergic reaction. From what I understand, she went into cardiac arrest and the doctors office called 911 and she was taken to the nearest hospital. Whatever they did in the ambulance seemed to have worked so by the time I got there, 30 seconds after the ambulance, she was fine. The nurses were less than informative and basically just wanted her to tell them what happened, while we were hoping to get the same information from them. They discharged her around 6 and she seems to be back to normal now, minus the whole original illness that she went to the doctor for. Oh and her Birthday is tomorrow so I guess we will be celebrating that at a later date.

Welp, that was my weekend. Back to work tomorrow!

Fill in the blank Friday

My first time linking up with Lauren for 'Fill in the blank Friday'

1. My favorite thing about this week was:
Trick or treating with my nephew. Loved seeing that little monster all 'tiggered' up. Although, girls night was a close second.

2. Colder weather makes me:
Overall just a happier person. It is a reminder that the holiday season is upon us and nothing makes me happier than that.

3. Three things that make me terribly happy as of late are:
My sweet, perfect, little monster of a nephew, Landyn.  The fact that my boyfriend and I have had a really good couple of weeks together without bickering as much as normal. The additional free time that I now have to spend with friends and family, without the stress that my second job caused me, mainly emotional.

4. If I could only wear one kind of shoe for the rest of my life, I'd choose:
That is an extremely hard question because of course one would have to choose flats, since they are much more comfortable. However, I do not think I could live without wearing heels every again. And you know that they say, beauty is pain :)

5. My personality type is:
When taking the Myers Briggs way back when I first started college, my personality type was  Extraverted, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving. I believe this description of this personality type fits me perfectly.

ESFPs live in the world of people possibilities. They love people and new experiences. They are lively and fun, and enjoy being the center of attention. They live in the here-and-now, and relish excitement and drama in their lives.

They're usually quite generous and warm. They are very observant about other people, and seem to sense what is wrong with someone before others might, responding warmly with a solution to a practical need. They're definitely a spontaneous, optimistic individual. They love to have fun. They're constantly putting on a show for others to entertain them and make them happy.

ESFPs love people, and everybody loves an ESFP. One of their greatest gifts is their general acceptance of everyone. They are upbeat and enthusiastic, and genuinely like almost everybody. An ESFP is unfailingly warm and generous with their friends, and they generally treat everyone as a friend.

The ESFP under a great deal of stress gets overwhelmed with negatives thoughts and possibilities. As an optimistic individual who lives in the world of possibilities, negative possibilities do not sit well with them.

6. I have a serious problem resisting:
Food- without a doubt, hands down, no questions asked, food is my number one weakness. If i'm full, I'll still eat if something looks good. I'm extremely picky so everything I eat is special ordered. I wish I could go places and order a meal and not take out or add anything, but hey, my taste buds have a mind of their own.

7. My favorite color to wear is:
Black. It's timeless, classic and you can dress it up or down. You can never go wrong with throwing on a black dress, top or jacket. When in doubt, wear black.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend, Ladies!

It's OK Thursday

It's OK...

... that we had girls night last night and I didn't get to sleep until 1:30 AM & had to wake up early this morning for work. Honestly, I don't feel as tired as I should.

..that I have closets, yes that is plural, full of clothes and never have anything to wear. I'm a clothes hoarder, I wouldn't be surprised if I still have stuff from 7 years ago stuffed somewhere in there. In my mind, I'll need it the second I throw it away, that always seems to happen to me.

..that when I'm in the car with my boyfriend and I flip through the stations, I secretly hope that he doesn't hear a song he knows and make me keep it on that station.

..that I'm always tired lately but when it comes time to go to sleep, I can't seem to fall asleep for hours.

..that I want nothing more than a big greasy plate of waffle fries.

..that my boyfriend doesn't have off any of the days that I do so it looks like a Winter vacay is out of the question. There is always next year (I have been saying that for 3 years.)

..that I keep telling myself I'm going to start working out and I haven't stepped foot in a gym. Maybe taking the stairs will make me feel a tad bit more productive?

.. that I might not be joining some of my old friends for a wedding this weekend in Miami as planned.

Wishing for everyone to have an OK AMAZING Thursday. :)
